I hereby proclaim the Old Shileleigh as the official unofficial BGSU bar to meet up prior to the MAC championship game!

There is also a Buffalo Wild Wings 4 blocks away from Ford Field, next to Old's.

Reviews for the Old Sheleleih are not very flattering!

Sounds like a good place 10-20 years ago.

Detroit Beer company .
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

The Old Sheleleih is great old Detroit bar in the heart of Greektown. The problem with "yelp" is that anybody can trash anything on there and be taken seriously. Look at the silly comments on there about Howards Club H. Don't believe the haters - go to the Sheleleih.

Howard's Club H....boy does that bring back some memories of the early 80's.

The Shileleigh hasn't let me down for 3 or 4 Motor City Bowls (including '03)- it's big, accesible, drinks are easily had, and it has good live sing along music.

I remember when the Glass City All-Stars rocked the place with a sweet set of Santana and Steely Dan covers!!Siborg wrote:Howard's Club H....boy does that bring back some memories of the early 80's.

I was just there Wed. after the Wings game. I love that bar, it has been a great time every time I've been there. There was a DJ downstairs and a live band upstairs. Almost feels like a mix of Brauthaus and Howards to me.

Hopefully the alumni association and BG announce ticket distribution, alumni events, buses going, etc. Anyone have any recommendations on hotels?
This will be my first trip to Detroit.

We are staying at the Atheneum, right down the street from Ford Field and next to the Greektown Casino. It's about $150 with all the taxes etc included. Huge rooms and very convenient.

Athenium is a good choice. Greektown casino and the Hilton Garden Inn are even closer. I am meeting up with my Cleveburg buddies at MGM. Its the best of the casinos, in terms of environment.
