My GMAC Bowl Adventure!

I am from Cleveland but had business to do in Atlanta the morning of the 22nd. I got this crazy idea that since Atlanta was only 5 hours away from Mobile that I would go to the game. I was on a 6:40 a.m. flight from Cleveland to Atlanta on Wednesday morning. That means I had to get up at 4:45 to get ready and get to the airport on time. I had a 10:00 a.m. meeting in Atlanta that went to about noon. I immediately started my drive to Mobile. Straight shot very easy. I think I made it in 4.5 hours. The time difference was great. 3 hours before the game even started, I parked and went straight to the Alumni tent. Paid my $25 and had a nice time. The game was great! The rain sucked! It rained hard! Bought one of those GAMC Bowl patches. It's pretty cool. My seat sucked! Big time. In fact many BG fans had crappy seats. I didn't understand this. I order it through the BG ticket office. Row 61 which is the very top row seat 24. I went to my seat before the game started took one look then went back down and never returned. In fact for kickoff I went and stood with some students in the 3rd row on the 35 yard line. That was fun because they were so in to it. I like seeing that. I stayed there unitl half time then watched the rest of the game standing behind one of the end zones. That was really cool because I was so close to the action. Everyone was so cool, you could have sat anywhere in the stadium if you wanted to. After the game I drove back towards Atlanta and stayed in Montgomery, AL.

This is where my adventure really began. The next morning I finished driving back to Atlanta where I was supposed to catch a 4:00p.m. flight to Cleveland. Flight cancelled! Crap. Nothing was available as 3 direct flights to Cleveland had been cancelled. Continental told me they couldn't get me on a flight until Sunday morning. Went back to Hertz rented a Trailblazer and drove from Atlanta to Cleveland. Not a pretty drive. Thank God for the Marshall/ Cincy game then the Wyoming / UCLA game. They kept me awake.

I was glad to get home to the wife and kids.

Everyone has been asking me, "Was it worth it?" I don't think they can understand it when I tell them "yes" every minute of it!

Go Falcons! Thanks for a great year and a great win!

I had fun!
