MAC in the bowl games this season

Buffalo took one on the chin against SDSU in Boise today. While I would be thrilled if BG wins no matter what the rest of the MAC does, I do hope the league can pick up a few wins. But I do think the MAC's biggest chance at any kinda of "statement" win can come from BG. We're the only MAC team playing a BCS opponent.

Funny thing too about the MAC teams in bowls this year...ONLY Ohio was originally listed as an underdog...Didn't see much of the Buffalo game, but did see the "onside kick" that wasn't on Hi-lites (if you want to see SDSU hilites).

I honestly thought they looked like they did against us. Hoping we continue our "better every game" performance that we have been on!

I think if we've learned one thing about Buffalo, its that they have a few really good players, and the rest of their team sucks. They ran off a bunch of wins against the weak teams of the MAC because those teams couldn't stop Neutz, Oliver, and Mack. Once they came up against teams that had the talent and personnel to slow them down, teams like Toledo and BG, they had no answer and wilted completely.
Unless UB has significant success in recruiting this offseason or has a positive change schematically, they will be back near the basement of the East Division next year after losing their key guys.
What ticks me off is that games like Buffalo's vs SDSU make the MAC look bad on national television. Not good Bulls.

Bulls did look a little slow. Hopefully BG can come out strong against Pitt and erase two things Clawson has not done for BG....win a bowl game and beat a BCS team.
Suzy Dieter, any relation to the brothers Dieter on the football team?

Just imagine what UB would be like without Khalil Mack ...

I don't see that ECU/OU match up going well for the MAC.....

Same here. Don't think Toledo would beat ECU either but would at least give them a better game. Its also interesting that this game is a 2pm start tomorrow. Usually don't see early start times like that on a weekday this early into bowl season

I never read that much into bowl games. They are glorified exhibition games, and if anyone says they are important needs to tell coaches who dump their teams right before. Also have 3 or more weeks to prepare is not normal. Don't worry about the other teams in the MAC, just hope BG has the will to prepare and play in this game.

No doubt.
I'm going to love whatching Khalil at the next level, but I'm going to miss watching him in the MAC.
I think he's the best defensive player this conference has had in a LONG time. Pass rushing, coverage, flow sideline to sideline, ability to read the offense before even the offense seems to know what they're doing.
He plays LB the way it should be played. Whichever team ends up with him is going to end up with a fantastic football player.

They're looking a lot better than Buffalo did. So far.

OU and ECU tied at 17 in the 3rd.
