Looks like the MAC will fall to 1-2 in the Bowls

Post by BGSU33 »

Thank goodness for BG, for a million and one reasons. Man, it's one of the few times I can actually get myself to pull for Toledo to win one (for the MAC), and they are stinking the place up. I know the injuries are killing them, but still. I hope Miami and Northern Illinois can get some wins. Oh yeah, by the way, thanks Marshall for going out of the MAC in such style..... :ugh:

They just quit on that last TD. I know it sucks to lose like that, but show some pride

It's probably hard to have pride when all your fans get up and leave with around 9 minutes to go. Turdledo's side of the stands was completely empty there...almost looked like the Doyt after halftime :?

You could tell UConn really wanted to be there. Turdledo, injuries or not, just didn't look like they were ready. The whole injury thing shows how great turdledo's depth really is in some positions, too. Besides their RB, they were looking sloppy all over. It's great our MAC Champs represent the league so well...

They were terrible out there tonight. It sucks thats Grad was hurt but damn that was awful. Us letting them back in the game 2nd half makes me so mad. We are so much better than them. oh well. next year

Well, I have to think that Council put on a good show after being put in and for being a freshman. Just think what would have happened if they put him in earlier?

Also, it seemed like everytime the announcers on ESPN would say one of the Toledo's players and say how they've overcome such hard times etc, etc, etc, they'd get hurt like 5 minutes later!!! (Just a question, did anyone else think that Body's hand looked a little... weird... as they were driving him off the field? I know they said it was gruesome... I know he broke something like 2 bones, but ew.)

In other news, I did enjoy screaming "SHOW THE MAC STATS!" at the tv and when they'd show up, cheering because Bowling Green was either at the top, or damn near it.

I am sorry to see the MAC lose.

Now, I am not an expert but, doesn't the coaching staff know if their QB can throw a ball BEFORE the game??? :coo-coo:

How long ago did this happen? and if there was a concern, don't you have your B Plan practiced ready to go?

I couldn't watch the game, but it sounded like the staff put all their hopes on Bruces 'toughness'! If you can't grip and throw spiral, what was the staff thinking?

I am also wondering if toledo was disappointed in a retrun to MCB? and lacked some motivation?

Also wonder about all of their staff thinking about their new jobs and not tu any more???

If Turner is half as good as everyone around here thinks he will be, will be fine.

I agree--they should have started Counsel. He's a strong QB, and their system helps the QB succeed.

Nonetheless, UConn was hungry and ready to play....first bowl game and all.

My primary thought as they dominated in the second half--why couldn't we do that?

However, if Omar had gone this year, we would have been deep in trouble.

no doubt, our backups this year did not seem too capable. BUt they never really got a chance in a real situation, so its hard to say absolutely.

Weird game to be at. Trying to root for the MAC but not really minding when Toledo would screw up. ..

UConn executed their game plan very well and their QB was on the mark all night.

Third straight Motor City Bowl for me, second bowl in a week. . .crazy stuff.

between that and something I heard somewhere (at the UT game, maybe? Freak, did you tell me this and I forgot? Damn this old age!) that Turner was "technically" the #2 guy, but only if needed (they weren't going to take a redshirt off for a few meaningless plays in a meaningless game. what a novel concept! ), we really never had a true gauge on what our backups were capable of. And I hope we don't see them for two MORE years, either.

I believe Brandon all but said that early in the season.

It worked out beautifully for us. Glad we were able to leave the shirt on Turner.
