Hi all,

I'm posting this now as I've accepted a new job and will be busy the next 7-10 days getting things sorted out and may not have enough time to get this up before next Thursday. If you didn't get a chance to read, we will be doing the straight up picks this year but with a confidence number. That number will range from 1 to however many total games are played that week. This is being done to hopefully give more variation in the standings and encourage people to take some more risks on their picks. I will also post the spreads in the game listings so everyone knows who is favored. If you have any questions, please direct message me. Once again, there will be prizes handed out at the conclusion of the competition. Good luck this year!

I could be wrong on this + maybe guys will correct me but I think you might have selections backward. You want the team you're ost confident in to get 12 pts, not 1 pt. if I AM wrong, then I need to reverse MY picks. Either way, we'll be in BG, ( Ky) to see your son play his 1st game as a Falcon, along with rest of the guys of course.

Thanks for doing this! Our most confident pick is 12, right? Here goes ..

12. Northern Illinois over Presbyterian. Easy win and NIU passes better than I've seen in years.
11. Ball State over Colgate. Ball State will still be a solid team even and will run at will.
10. Akron over Howard. Easy win and good start for a bowl bound team.
9. Marshall over that team down south. Those guys will improve this year a lot with a coaching upgrade.
8. Central Michigan over Chattanooga. Here's your MAC West pain-in-the-ass team.
7. Bowling Green over Western Kentucky. BG offense looks in rhythm and the defense is as good as ever. Multi possession win.
6. Boston College over UMass. Will UMass be as bad as recent years? Not likely. Still won't matter.
5. Buffalo over Duquesne. Though I'm not sold on Buffalo being a good team.
4. That team up north over New Hampshire. Don't sleep on UNH. They can score and they almost beat CMU last year.
3. Purdue over Western Michigan. Both teams improve this year but Purdue is just better.
2. Eastern Michigan over Morgan State. I might have picked the other way last year. Chris Creighton is the biggest coaching upgrade in the conference.
1. Ohio over Kent State. Ohio should be a solid team this year, but I have no read on Kent.

12- NIU, imposing home field, still a very good team
11- Marshal, Mia is just THAT bad
10- Boston College, UMass is Mia bad
9- Falcons, Just a hunch here
8- Akron, The Fighting LeBron's pull it out
7- CMU, I know marginally more about them than I do Chattanooga
6- Purdue, I really like Hazell and want him to do well and Western is starting like 13 true frosh
5- Ball State, They're playing a school better known as a toothpaste than football
4- Buffalo, I don't know why this just feels like an upset
3- Ohio, OU has to live up to the preseason hype at some point don't they?
2- EMU, Can you really feel comfortable picking Eastern to win, EVER?
1- New Hampshire, because someone had to . . .

Btw, I'd like to say thanks to JP for running this again. These confidence points will be fun and add a lot of strategy to the game, but will certainly take a lot more work to sort out. At any rate, let college football begin!!
