I recall talking with Chris shortly after he got the job. When the topic of our school colors seeming to be vanishing, he said if he couldn't get our colors he'd seriosly look at other suppliers. Guess he's following thru!

Would love to compare the financials here , assuming we are increasing our take/benefits and of course increasing the BROWN presence.

Cool with me. I doubt we'll get the same swag that Oregon does, but they've got the best uniforms in college football, IMO, so anything that moves us closer to them in that regard is good with me.
Hopefully the official store will start getting some better gear as well. Not a fan of the Adidas stuff, and really don't like the generic-y stuff. The best BG gear, by far IMO, is the Under Armour stuff that SBX carries. It's all pricey, but it looks good and they make awesome stuff.

flash unis are fine, but it's all about the cash and the equipment and apparel allowances...
the adidas contract gave us no cash and no allowances.
University Bowling Green State University
Equipment and apparel provider Adidas
Conference Mid-American
Expiration 5/31/2014
2014-15 total contract value $0
Equipment and apparel contract: Bowling Green Adidas contract.pdf
Notes Can purchase products at wholesale price, also receives a limited amount of merchandise.
Equipment and apparel allowance 2014-15 $0
Cash 2014-15 $0
Discretionary apparel allowance 2014-15 $0
wholesale price, big whoop. meanwhile, the power schools are raking in the cash and goodies with their contracts.
The Nike contract has to be better.

BG's old adidas contract is public record, available from the database here:
http://www.bizjournals.com/portland/blo ... l?page=all" target="_blank
ouch. adidas did provide a modest amount of promotional merchandise, but only if we made minimum annual purchase of $200,000. If we didn't hit the $200,000, no promotional merch AND we had to PAY adidas cash equivalent to the shortfall.
meanwhile...
"The University of Michigan's contract with Adidas is the largest in the database. The university gets $4.4 million in equipment and apparel and another $3.8 million in cash annually from Adidas."
fu**ing bastards.

This exponentially increases the chance that we see brown return to our uniforms in all sports.

I saw a tweet from @Thomas_Schmeltz that made me think of it. Since Browns are a Nike team, seems like we should be able to find the brown fabric now.

Looks like the ability to get brown is a factor.

In Kingston's first month I had an email exchange where he indicated an upcoming apparel contract change and that brown would be a factor. I am thrilled he followed through.
