Saw on Ch. 13 Sports this morning that Le'Von Bell was committed to play for the BG Falcons. He ended up at Michigan State.

From Wikipedia: Bell was born in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He attended Groveport Madison High School in Groveport, Ohio, and played high school football for the Groveport Cruisers. As a sophomore Bell ran for 789 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. As a junior Bell ran for 1,100 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, and as a senior Bell ran for 1,333 yards on 200 carries with 21 touchdowns. He was selected first-team All-Ohio Capital Conference Ohio Division as a senior. He ran as a junior, and added as a sophomore. He also earned second-team All-OCC Ohio Division honors in basketball as a junior. Bell also participated in track and field.

Considered a two-star recruit by Rivals.com, he accepted a scholarship offer from Michigan State over offers from Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Marshall.[2]

Clawson mentioned a few times during his tenure here that we almost had him.

To make matters worse, the way I heard this story, was that he wanted to go to O$U, but they didn't have a spot for him so an O$U assistant told Dantonio to offer and they did. So if he keeps his mouth shut he probably goes here. Not positive, but I thought they said it was Fickell who made the call to Dantonio.

However, he's on the Steelers, not the Browns. ;)

That doesn't say much for Fickell's intelligence to keep him in the conference. Guess that explains their defensive problems too! ;-) :-D
