Being at The Doyt Saturday was one of the best experiences my family has had in a long time. Like many, I'm praying for minimal injuries Saturday and am ready for the conference schedule to start. 2-2 would be way better than I thought after WKU. 3-1 would be crazy awesome.

Ouch, it has now moved to 26 1/2. I know Camp Randall is one of the more hostile environments to play but I would put us down for at least 22 and with their run-first style to put up 49?

They are averaging 32.5 in their first two games and are coming off a bye week.

Not surprised at the spot. Frankly, look at our def. stats thru 1 st 3 games. I know we can put pts on the board, but is our D capable of holding them in check?
I would LOVE to see us match the 1 st half we had against them the last time we played, but with another def. starter out, and perhaps some of our WR's still banged up from Sat., it'll be a HUGE challenge this weekend.

Not sure what to think of Wisconsin. Blew a big lead against LSU and struggled with an FCS team before pulling away. They are just about always a good team, rarely a great team. Wisconsin is a team that runs up the score, at least they were under Bielema in my opinion. So I could see the score getting lopsided if we don't play well in the first half.

I personally can't stand Wisconsin after the way my Dad and I were treated there in 2005. Hoping the offense comes out rolling. They did replace much of their defense.

8 D starters gone from last year...but always tough as nails and physical on offense. That's where the biggest area of concern is...that back from IU torched us BiG time in the 2nd half. I can see a game similar to 2005...we score quickly and they run the same 3-4 plays every time. Swannie's brother said their secondary is really hurting this year with inexperience. We are gonna have to score often and somehow get some stops to have a shot.

If totally healthy, I could see us possibly winning...right now, trying to be a realist, we are hurting and it could turn ugly...games snowball outta control. At this point, I am very happy with the win over IU and will take 2-2 overall after these 4 games. Would love to see another win over a BiG whateverthehelltheyarethesedays and we have a shot. No turnovers, score in the red zone, get off blocks quickly and wrap up and tackle. Near perfection is the only shot cuz teams like this can have a few mistakes and still be in good shape.

The 8 MAC games that follow are 1000+ more important this year. Detroit or bust...

Ruh roh. It was not good interacting with Wisconsin fans? I have a ticket already bought, but the current state of injuries on the team + expected rain there has me reconsidering. If their fans are ornery, that may keep me home.

This will be our third trip to Madison for a BG vs Wisconsin football game and we have never had a problem. Matter of fact, we have always had a GREAT time, pregame, postgame, and the entire weekend. Not to say there might not be a " bad piece of cheese" once in awhile, but it is certainly not the norm.
Seems the weather report is improving some as the week goes on, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

In 2005 we had a completely opposite experience. The fans were awesome, the worst treatment we got was nowhere near what we've gotten from MAC rivals. On our way out some students offered us to play beer pong which I totally would have accepted were it not for the long drive home. All things considered that 2005 trip to Camp Randall was the best atmosphere I've ever visited. I highly suggest taking the trip and wish we could this year.

It was isolated I'm sure as everyone else I knew had good times. It happened after the game on the walk to the car. By far the ugliest thing we have been through in traveling to many many games in our lives. It has always left us with a bad taste for that school.

Easily the worst I've ever experienced was Ohio State for the 2002 Michigan game. My older brother is a Michigan alum and was in the marching band for 5 years, first of which was 2002. My family went to Columbus for the Skull Session as we figured it would be a great opportunity to see both bands without paying the scalp prices for game tickets. Walking from the car to the arena entailed walking in front of all of the frat houses. You would not believe the vulgarity seen on signs and shirts. It's not a good sign when "Ann Arbor is a whore" is one of the nicer ones. I was wearing a blue shirt - not a Michigan shirt, but a blue hoodie - and was the recipient of all kinds of nasty insults, from language to sexual insults - which was rather hard for a 16 year old to take in. Being a high school kid who just got a driver's license, I certainly did not have anywhere near the composure I have now. So I put my dad's jacket on to avoid being caught wearing "the enemy's colors" because that was pretty traumatic in hindsight for my 16 year old self. We were genuinely afraid for our personal safety because a 16 year old committed the awful crime of wearing blue in Columbus the day of the Michigan game. The whole environment was all completely unnecessary by the students and fans.

Now to give them some credit, the worst at the Skull Session was fans booing the Michigan band. Nearly all people that go there are going to see a great musical performance and are not drunk. That part of the day was awesome. Both bands are truly among the best in the country, and the director that Michigan had from 2001 or so to 2006 brought the absolute best out of the band. They sounded amazing, and of course the Ohio State band was as excellent as ever.

My brother gauged how nice the degenerates were by what they threw at the band. They were the nastiest in 2002 when they threw hard things - like batteries - and sharp things - like glass beer bottles and crushed aluminum cans. They were much more considerate in 2006 when they threw soft stuff - the dampened field sod which permanently stained a bunch of band uniforms. Like they were so stained that the grass colors wouldn't be removed in dry cleaning so the band had to buy mass replacements.

There is a reason why I want them to lose every single week. By my personal experiences, their fans are the worst in the country. I hear things are much better there now and I know that the above experiences were "isolated incidents" but considering what we had to deal with in 2002, I can't imagine ever wishing well upon the team because that means wishing well upon those drunk fans in Columbus.

Going into this season most Badger internet fans were less optimistic about the team than the media. Saturday's game will go a long way toward proving which group is correct.

While we have whipped Indiana like a rented mule the last several seasons, I will say that Indiana's offense is probably as good as Wisconsin's, maybe better this season. Defense is another story. In spite of the losses to graduation, Wisconsin's defense is a whole lot better than IU's.

Wisconsin lost it's defensive front seven and a safety to graduation. We started the season thin on the D-line and got thinner when our starting nose guard was injured in the LSU game. (won't return for another couple of weeks) Coach Andersen favors a smaller and faster defense and a 3-4, so our front seven is smaller than they were in 2005. Until injuries set in, they held their own against LSU.

Three returning defensive secondary starters are joined by the first true freshman to start at secondary for the Badgers in many years. The frosh has made some typical freshman mistakes, but since in fall camp he beat out an experienced senior and two redshirt sophomores who saw playing time last season, I suspect he's going to be very good.

We've also lost four running backs/fullbacks to injury, but our top two guys, Melvin Gordon III and Corey Clement, are able to play. In garbage time two weeks ago, a RS sophomore walk-on fullback got the carries as the third and fourth string RBs were both hurt along with the starting FB.

The expected starting QB, Joel Stave, developed a weird case of the yips during fall camp and is off the depth chart. The new starter, Tanner McEvoy, played horrible football in the second half against LSU, but better two weeks ago against Western Illinois. He's a great athlete, but lacks experience at QB and seems to be an inaccurate passer, especially on long throws. His backup, highly touted out of high school in California, has been injured a couple of times and is still not 100% in his throwing.

I doubt coach Andersen will RUTS. He hasn't so far and in this game he may not have the horses to do so. Las Vegas usually knows what its doing so I suppose 26 is possible, but I certainly wouldn't bet on Wisconsin covering.

I don't know if I'd call Wisconsin's offense excellent given our QB and WR limitations. But, yes, we certainly have a different approach than Indiana does. Give us their QB and receivers and I think we're a top ten or even top five team.

Western Illinois sold out to stop the run and mostly managed to do so until late in the game. Wisconsin was able to pass against that defense because of their safeties cheating up. Your defense might be more effective than that.

The bye week is an added advantage to Wisconsin that I forgot to mention.

Interesting that Lewis has become a star. Badger coach Andersen mentioned how good he was in his Monday press conference. IIRC, Phil Steele had him third string in his annual magazine.
