Enough is Enough

Was today frustrating to be a Falcon fan?
Absolutely

Can we still win the MAC?
Absolutely

That comment Babers made about the train leaving people behind is aimed at most of the people on this board. Today we got beat by a team that in all honesty is probably one second half collapse away from potentially being in the final four of the new playoff.

So we lost to WKU, so what. Wisconsin beat us, so what. Those games mean NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. We can go out, rip off 9 straight and defend our title. I don't really care if you don't agree with my point of view. Last year walking out of the Doyt after losing to Toledo I was frustrated but reminded myself that we still controlled our fate as to whether we would play for the title or not. We still do, so who cares that we are 2-2. Realistically I think that is probably where most people thought we would be. Were the losses ugly? Sure, but it doesn't matter. It isn't like at the end of the season the cumulative total of yards and points get added up. Only W/L total matters. If you are fed up with the program, quit following it, nobody is forcing you to keep watching.

I on the other hand will continue to watch and support whether we win or lose. Maybe you should too.

C'mon...it wouldn't be AZZ.com if we didn't have a bunch of spastic, whiny reactionary threads...each one expressing the same level of discontent.. after a loss. Never mind the fact that we don't see early that level of passion from people when we win. It must be more fun to bitch...

Someone may have already said this but I'm too lazy to read through all the other crap to see, but it be that Wisconsin is a vastly superior team? Maybe? Think so? Possibly? Alas, from many posters in this world, that cannot be.

They are a better team. The problem isn't losing, it's not even losing by a lot. It's giving up the most yards on the ground ever in the history of the Big 10. It's not improving a lick over 4 games.

Indiana is up late 3q at Mizzou.

Bowling Green will be a contender for MAC East.

Go Falcons

Agree VW. Yeah is totally sucks to get run all over. Yeah we've given up insanely amounts of yards and points. But we are 2-2. Right now Indiana is leading 24-17 at ranked Missouri late in the 3rd. In 2004, tsun opened the season with 2 losses of 63-21 & 63-14...and went on to win the MAC. People bitch all the time and face it, we have a fickle fan base. Glow when we win, bitch when we lose. We can win the East...and right now, that's all I care about. I will never get off the bandwagon. When we suck it up, I'll say so. The sky isn't falling.....BEAT UMASS!!!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, don't like it then don't read it. One thing I hate is being told how to be a fan from other people. We all express things differently. Today was an embarrassing day for Bowling Green football no matter how good Wisconsin is. There's a lot to play for obviously but the complaining and bitching is warranted. Expectations were set high by the coaching staff and players this year and people are frustrated with the results. Doesn't make them fair weather or bad fans. We all want the program to succeed but there's no way to sugarcoat what happened today. There's a lot that needs to be worked on and still time to correct things and hopefully get healthy. I'm still optimistic about the season because I don't think the MAC is very good this year, but there needs to be work done to correct the poor tackling and angles being taken on defense, simple as that.

I agree people are entitled to their opinions, I am just fed up with all the negativity. I'm not telling you how to be a fan, just simply saying people need to chill a bit. Never too high, never too low. But the bitching for the sake of bitching is getting old.

I know it isn't always going to be pretty, but once in a while it wouldn't be terrible to see something positive. Hell, even when we win it isn't good enough for some people.

So I guess your own advice applies, don't like it, don't read it or reply

I put my name and who I am in my signature because I am not afraid of my opinions and won't hide behind an online screen name.

Agree with everything you said including why I put my name and photo on the website. Everybody knows who I am. When I say stupid stuff on the board, my name is attached, and for good reason.

Our run D was pretty suspect last year, Pitt's running game gouged us last year, it was expected this yr vs Wisky because that's what they've excelled at for decades. Add that and the fact that their Oline was an avg 70 pounds bigger than our Dline, and we've had trouble tackling all season, was just a recipe for disaster

The only problem I have with some of our fans is they complain vigorously when the team loses and then only apologize for being slightly wrong when the team wins. When I chose to follow BG as my primary, if not only, college team I came in with the reality that even when conference titles were won I was going to watch a program that was a notch or two below national power. I follow BG because I graduated from BG, my parents graduated from BG and I feel BG has athletics more in perspective than most of the Power 5 types.

Our Falcon is a small bird, a fast bird, and fierce bird but it will forever be an underdog. And being an underdog simply makes it that much sweeter when we take down the big prey. That's what I live for as a fan of BG.

I graduated in 09 and have met many posters over the last few years so I have no issue in not hiding behind my comments. Perhaps my post yesterday was a little too strong but I think every fan should carry some concern about this team moving forward.

Personally I didn't think we were all that good last year...basically one big upset against NIU and a pretty good game against Ohio. Clawson was a solid recruiter and below average game day coach. I would be surprised if he has even one winning season at Wake Forest. All that being said, I thought he left the program in good enough shape that we shouldn't be getting embarrassed by non SEC teams. We've been embarrassed twice in four games....at this point some major changes need to be made with our defensive scheme/personnel/staff. Sorry, I don't think much of MAC football, but we won't get to Detroit playing D like this. I think fans have a right to be disappointed, but we hired Babers to coach, so let's see how he fixes it.
