How can BG win the MAC EAST the quickest...?

BG win over WMU (putting BG 4-0 in MAC play) & Akron loss to OU (putting Akron 2-1 in MAC play) & BG win over Akron on 11/4?

Too many moving parts yet with too many games to be played to figure it all out. Bottom line is, BG needs to keep winning and getting help from other teams never hurts either. For example, BG and Akron are the only undefeated teams in the East. Best case scenario this weekend is BG beats WMU and Ohio beats Akron.

Just win.

I'm pretty sure the east will be decided on 11/4 at Akron.

The only other legit candidate in terms of wins and losses right now is Ohio. I don't see Ohio winning out and us losing twice. Ohio is banged up and their offense see isn't doing much. Our defense keeps improving with each conference game and our offense has shown the ability to score when it matters most so I just don't see Ohio catching up.

I haven't seen Akron play much but they looked fundamentally solid in their big win at Pitt. I can't imagine us losing to Akron and then Akron losing two others while we win out to give us the east title. I just cannot right now see the winner of the BG Akron game not winning the east barring a disastrous meltdown.

Beating Akron affords a one game cushion. That means assuming you beat Western, you have a game to give against Toledo, Kent and Ball State. 11/4 will all but decide who is going to Detroit.

Let's just win our next 7 games!!!

7 straight wins will give us a 10 game winning streak, A MAC East title; A MAC Championship and A Bowl win.

Let's just win our next 7 games and not worry about what anyone else is doing.

Beat WMU, then let's talk Akron.

Exactly. No way we want to go into a two-week bye off a loss. This WMU game is extremely important to win. If we beat WMU, we go into a long break undefeated in the MAC, bowl eligible and can hopefully get healthier and get a guy or two back for Akron.

Getting Lynch back for Akron will be HUGE.

Agreed. And getting a win over WMU first would be even bigger. Ohio dealing Akron a loss this weekend too would be real nice too. Sounds like Pohl is questionable for Akron with a concussion.

Pohl is out, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Ohio usually plays Akron very well. I'm in the camp of "Let's beat WMU" and go from there....

It is really not a good year to be a starting QB for an FBS school in Ohio. OSU, then us, then that team up north, then OU, then Kent, and now Akron have all had starting QBs miss starts due to injury.

Whatever happened to winning it on the field?

Win today, beat Akron, and the East is basically won, as long as BG doesn't fall off at the end. And of course, end that four-game losing streak on Nov. 19th.
