Interesting article, its no secret that BG does this as well since students get to attend events for free. The question that begs to be asked is will the mid-majors seek this as a way to cover the growing expenses to field Division 1 sports?

Nothing new here. BG has what is called a mandatory general fee outside of tuition cost. Every student pays this and over 50% of that fee goes to the athletic department and the golf course.
