Interesting!
Bowling Green formally offered Babers its coaching position on Dec. 17 after Eastern Illinois had been eliminated from the playoffs. Babers' contract with Eastern Illinois had a buyout provision that stated he would owe an amount equal to his current base salary, a little more than $173,000, according to the school's general counsel, Robert Miller. As of Jan. 3, 2014, however, the buyout was due to expire. Babers would owe nothing for leaving.

A day after Babers signed to become Bowling Green's coach, the school's athletic director, Chris Kingston, signed an agreement to play Eastern Illinois in a men's basketball game at Bowling Green during one of the next three seasons and pay Eastern Illinois $70,000 within 30 days of the deal's execution, plus another $15,000 within 24 hours of the game's completion, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY Sports.
