NIU will be a two score favorite at least. This team has managed to suck all the excitement I had about this game.

No I did that yesterday.
Today I just watched a half of the most pathetic football I have seen since the Moe Ankney days. Were you at the game supporting your team and favorite coach?
I am sure though that the Northern Illinois coach feels the same way about Babers.
7-7 Final record and they didn't beat one team with a winning record. Or out gained one team they beat. Total joke of a team and coach.
I'm surprised you haven't been consoling your friend Matt whateverhisnameis from that school up north.

Maybe it's the home games with NO one in the seats, a team giving up lots and lots of points on more than one occasion, not having a Josh Harris/Cole Magner combination, or not being able to beat Toledo for several years. I really don't know maybe it is just a little of each. I for one, have lost a significant amount of excitement for BG football in recent years. I really hope some of the key elements missing reappear bringing back some of the passion and enthusiasm.
I have no disrespect for the players or coaches as I think they are doing their best.

Did you say NO ONE IN THE SEATS? 8500+ according to the official summary. Guess you must have missed those folks.

THERE WERE NOT 8500 AT THE GAME. The east side alone had less than 500. At most 3000. 8500 include the paid season ticket holders

Guys, I'm joking .... Saw the numbers and had to laugh... I was at the game w/ my grandson, visiting from Va.. Almost pathetic tothink a COLLEGE game could draw this few , even considering Black Friday, 1pm start etc.
Wonder how the crowds were for other MAC games. Hope the ESPN contract makes this crap worth it. Can't help team emotionally either. Lots of these kids have played HIGH SCHOOL GAMES in front of bigger crowds. That said, oneof my posts never came up. My biggest complaint about the coaching decisions evolved around leaving your top 2 RB's in game, especially Travis Greene with 3 min. Left, down 17. If he's unable to play, along w/ Coppet being hurt again, we've been put in a precarious spot to say the least.

At least the MAC did better than the Mountain West, Fresno State will be going to the title game at 6-6.

For any students on here, Falcon Fanatics will have a fan bus going to Detroit. Ticket is five bucks and first 300 to sign up get a spot. I've been just as disappointed in this season as anybody and even questioned whether or not to go, but I know the second I give up on this team I'll probably be sitting at home bitterly watching us celebrate a second consecutive MAC Championship on TV. Roll Along!

It begins and ends with the students. I have no idea how to get them to buy in to supporting their school, but they drive the attendance and the atmosphere. Going to the games while in college has to correlate to returning to watch after graduation. At least it did personally. And I had no connection to BG before stepping on campus.
edit: Also, for all the sturm and drang on here, that was the prototypical completely meaningless game and we all knew it for the last month.
As for whether the ESPN contract is worth it: Everybody has their own definition of what worth it is.
