ESPN announcers need to go

Great win, it wasn't easy, but these two guys on ESPN sounded as if they worked for our opponent. It was as if we did nothing right on offense , which we had many stars.
Even worse was the lack of praise for our D. Yes they got burned a couple times but overall played great.
But, I have never heard a more one sided pair of announcers during a game. Unbelievable.

I think they were pushing the story of USA's first bowl game a little much.

They had to sell USA tonight to keep people from turning the channel, I had no issue with it. Their program has come a long way and they deserve some recognition. BG represented themselves well, won the game and can now hit the recruiting trail.

I thought USA got much better coverage but overall, I thought it was well done tonight. Exciting game and a bowl win. They can have the coverage, we get the hardware.
And even better? Not much talk about the playoff.

Mike,
I agree...they WAY overplayed our alleged size advantage. I think most college teams have smaller D lines than O lines. And we sure as heck had a hard time running the ball. Props to USA for that. But the coverage wasn't that out of balance overall.

And now that you mention it they didn't spend half the night gushing over other bowl games that they were looking forward to while ignoring the one they were covering. I appreciate that you can get the announcers attention on the game you're watching - it often doesn't work that way.

It helps that the game had an atmosphere to it and a good storyline. Less time to chat up playoff nonsense and helps the broadcast team get into the game.

We noticed the same thing!! It was refreshing to hear a BG game called and nearly ALL of their talk was about the game they were watching and not about other teams, other bowls, other STUFF!! Sure I noticed their talk was bit one sided, but hey, they
DIDN'T TALK ABOUT OSU, and
WE WON!!
WELL DONE BG FOOTBALL!!!

I thought overall they were fine for the Camilla Bowl. However, the PBP guy spent almost a full minute trying to stay firm with his decision for BG to for two after Lewis' touchdown. It was an incredibly ridiculous discussion.

I thought the coverage was above average for a MAC bowl. As stated above, they stayed focused on the game and that was refreshing. They did talk a lot about USA but that's not so bad, its a good story.

The comment Knapke isn't a threat to run kept them focused on BG. They had a little fun with that comment on the option that was ineffective before a couple of QB draws at key points later in the game.

I also remember an NIU game where the ESPN announcers remarked that our D-line was outweighed by their O-line. Well duh, that's almost always the case, and in this instance the difference wasn't even that much. I agree though, they weren't talking about other games much, so that's an improvement for E$PN.

I thought the announcers were professional, much more so than the level we sometimes get on these ESPN3 games.
They were too focused on the South Alabama story line, I agree. So what was our story line? "New head coach tries to regain confidence of Falcon fans"? "MAC East champion wants to avoid slipping to .500"?
Perhaps it was best they focused on South Alabama.

On the Sunday morning SportsCenter, the anchor referenced "Jason Knapke" throwing the TD pass to Roger Lewis.

I thought the coverage was fine. And BTW - The call on the winning TD to Lewis was fabulous!
