BG athletic department formally announces Derek Lee has joined the team after stops at Butler Community College (KS) and North Dakota State.

I did email the football SID to ask how much eligibility he had left for us. His response was curious.

He said that "at this time he has only one year of eligibility remaining." I am not sure what "at this time" means? I wonder if they are petitioning for another year?

Pretty sure this was discussed on a previous thread. Lee was quoted at the time that he had ONE yr. of eligibility left. So what they're referring to now does seem odd.

If he lost a year to academics but graduates on time... I think he gets a year back.
