I hope Coach Brandon and Co. were taping that Utah-Pitt game. Man, that was a awesome game by Utah. They just crushed a happless Big East team in Pittsburg. That defensive line of Utah is something to behold. What did I tell ya. :-\ That defensive line of Utah is what was responsible for them going undefeated, not their very potent offense. That one d-lineman was having his way the Pittsburg center or guard he was lineup against. All of Utah's defensive lineman over 300 lbs. and fast. I wished my vcr hand't stopped tapping at 11:30pm. Utah's d never stopped pounding Pittsburg even with 6 minuts to go being up 35 to 7. They had the size, strength and stamina to completely punish Pitts offensive line throughout the entire game. Utah has a defense that all mid-majors should envy. Notice I havent' mentioned the offense once though they were surely dominating as well. MM.......something to think about for our coaches this recruitng season.

I feel like Utah as good as anyone else was this season. Unfortunately they did not play any real strong teams. However, they did everything they could possibly do. They cannot change the conference they play in. They beat every team on their schedule by more than 2 touchdowns and that is taking care of business.

I will hate Utah for as long as Urban Meyer is their coach. Maybe I am holding a grudge... Ya think?

I just don't understand the animosity towards Urban Meyer? He is as responsible as anybody for the state of our program today! How quick everyone forgets the Mo Ankey and the end of the Gary Blackney eras.
All of us would jump at the chance to advance professionally as he did. And don't tell me that he lied. We all know that you play the interview process close to the vest until you have accepted an offer.
Get over it!

couple things here: Pitt suxors. Utah can and likely would hang/beat anyone, but lets not forget that Pitt is not a quality opponent. That was probably the safest bet of the bowl season.
Holding a grudge against UM is pretty shallow if you ask me. Sure he said he wasnt leaving. But at the time he said that, I'm sure he was telling the truth. But when you get a job offer that is not a step down in anyway, and is 4 times your current sallary, you are going to take it. Anyone else would have done the same. He got our program started again. He brought us some superstars, and we owe him.
Before I get flamed like woah, I love haveing Brandon as a coach. That bowl victory was quality coaching and a half. But I would take Urban back if he wanted to. [not that it will ever happen]

Hey, it looks like you're done hating Utah. Now you can move on to Florida.

Urban leaving BG has been a good thing in my mind. He may have not done any better than Coach B. However what he did do was drag us into a bunch of national attention. Everytime Urban was mentioned this year, they mentioned BG. We couldn't have bought that much publicity. I hope he kicks A at Florida, so they continue to mention he started at Bowling Green.

I don't think anyone is holding a grudge because Urban left. The grudge is about how he left. He definitely could have handled the situation better with the players, instead of cowardly slinking away. Yes, he should have taken the Utah gig...who wouldn't in that same situation and yes, he is responsible for turning BG around... and no, I don't think he learned anything from the poor way he left BG. He stood on national tv and when directly asked about leaving Utah and going to Florida, he stated he would be back at Utah, only to turn around a week later and accept the Florida job. He said countless times that he had not been in contact with Florida, but there is no way a deal could have been reached without negotiations of some sort that would have included his very own input. He even admitted that by the time the ND gig was available, it was too late because he had already decided with his family that he was going to Florida. Yes, he should have taken the job, but he certainly shouldn't have told the media or his players that he would be back in Utah when he knew full well he would be leaving. In other words, Don't be a Liar.
I don't care who you are or what you accomplish in this world, but don't lie, cheat, and steal to get it and then expect folks to respect you.

Maybe the new FAQ needs to have links to the 12,359 threads exactly like this one that have already run their course.

Boy are you ever behind the times.
Urban Meyer is now at Gainesville Technical College. He left the University of Florida to interview for the University of Louisville job (after declaring he was happy at Florida and had unfinished business) when Petrino was flirting with the LSU position, but when Petrino backed out and decided he would honor his week old contract, UM was left in a lurch. And since Dave Wannstedt had the Pitt job already and UM's Notre Dame predecessor was already hired at the University of Washington, UM had nothing left to do but take a job back at Gainesville Tech. But I'm sure Brent Musberger and the boys will be talking about him for a long time.

Probably will not take Gainesville Tech long to make the jump to 1-A now.
