It's all our fault! [again]

Post by Bleeding Orange »

I'd almost forgotten about it, but I just overheard the announcers for the Sugar Bowl blaming us once again for Auburn not getting a title shot. I haven't heard who the announcers are because I've been flipping back and forth, but I was actually kind of happy to see us talked about so much. They actually had some good things to say the best being that we are in the top 25! Now, I take that with a grain of salt because whoever said that in the same breath also said that we had gone 8-2.

But, I don't mind screwing over Auburn. It actually got us more publicity! :D

I heard it too! But I think they were almost giving us props for finishing 8-2 and beating Memphis. IMO...

Hey, I take them saying that we are top 25 as a compliment! I'm sitting there watching and then I hear Bowling Green and I actually started to listen. I'm just glad they talk about us during other games!! :D

That is what I was attempting to get at (them complimenting us) but I'm tired and I've been staring at a computer since 11 AM. Stupid grad school applications.

Anyhow, I am still extatic to see us getting publicity even after our season has ended. Is this the first step to breaking into the preseason top-25? :?:

I think it's funny (maybe not the right word) that BG gets blamed for rescheduling the game. If Auburn really wanted that game this year, they could have offered BG a home game, maybe a 2 for 1 deal. Or they could have offered to match Oklahoma's money. I have no sympathy for Auburn on this at all. If the BCS schools want to play every non-conference game at home (supposedly for monetary reasons), they shouldn't complain when someone finds a better deal. The fact is, Auburn thought it wouldn't matter who they played out of conference and their gamble didn't pay off.

This year has been a real treat. I feel a little spoiled. It has almost become common to hear someone, somewhere, for some reason, mention Bowling Green. I love it. To bad the pukes in the Cleveland media haven't really caught on as much as the national media has.

That is perfect! These BCS boys are gonna learn one way or the other. IF we can't share in all that $$$$, then we ought to do whatever we can to insure we get the most $$$ for games at their houses.
OK offered 200k more for us to play in Norman.
