Thoughts While Watching OU-USC

Things I am tired of:

1. annoying commercials- I am really sick of the "No More Late Fees" Blockbuster commercial and also the Dodge "Best Friends" commercial- just a bit odd I think.

2. OU's and USC's fightsongs / first down cadances, next to Toledo these to schools have the most annoying little dittys- I mute the tv when I play against these teams on the playstation

Things I am not tired of:

1. USC cheerleaders and their timeless, class uniforms. . . ummm yum.

2. college football, man I am going to miss you and can't wait to tailgate in Madison on labor day!!!

The "Did Bob 'that pick wasn't my son's fault' Griese Just say THAT??!!"

a. "Pretty soon your are gonna see some balls poppin out"

perhaps I will update this as the game goes on . ..

I still think that OU borrowed their fight song from Indiana. Who stole it from Yale.

I don't like the big orange they put on USC's cheerleader sweaters, but I still like them.

I can't wait for Madison, either.

I heard that "balls poppin' out" line as I was walking through the office. Just that line, nothing else. Frightening.

I agree with Dayon on all points. Just got done complaining to my wife about the commercials which I've now seen for three games in a row.

Also, TG is correct--"Boomer Sooner" originated at Yale where it was "Boola Boola". Maybe they still do it at Yale, I don't know.

Along the commercials line of thinking, I was wondering what actually happens to the people that don't have a Capital One Card. Do the get decapitated or something? :axe:

You know what made my night? Hearing Ashley Simpson get booed off the stage. MY GOD SHE WAS HORRIBLE!

Amen to that, she is so awful, and then the whole lip synching(sp) deal on national TV. I've never laughed so hard when she got booed off. She is so annoying. She is trying to be like her sister and she can't do it.

It was the highlight of the night. She is really bad. What a nice family song to sing as well. Why in the hell did they get her for this venue?

ABC made a point to show quite a few celebrities last night. Where was Ashlee's husband O.J.? I heard he was there somewhere.

"and now, let us cut to O.J. who is in the house tonight".

personally, I would have rather had Homer J. Simpson sing.

Ashlee Simpson Booed at FedEx Orange Bowl

They say that an elephant
never forgets. And apparently,
neither does the American
public.

Ashlee Simpson was booed
at the conclusion of her
performance during the
halftime show at the FedEx
Orange Bowl between the
Oklahoma Sooners and the
USC Trojans Tuesday night.

Ironically, Simpson chose not to use a background track (used by most artists in large-scale, live events). However, choosing to sing live didn't work out for Ashlee in the end. A very obvious chorus of boos could be heard throughout the Orange Bowl in Miami as the fireworks erupted, and Simpson's song came to an end Tuesday night.

Simpson's vocals were the talk of the town after her 'Milli-Vanilli' antics were exposed on Saturday Night Live in the Fall of 2004. Simson first blamed the incident on her band, only to later use acid reflux as the culprit.

Searches on the syncing serenader jumped 226%, vaulting her into our top three searches overall on Yahoo.com.

Dave,
Watch it! You're starting to show your age (and mine), with all these "historical" references.

Anyone else catch where the new 3 second delay came into use last night??

Right after the safety they cut to Leinert walking off the field and he whips his helmet off and the sound goes off the broadcast but you can clearly see him saying the mother of all naughty words.

Who was the woman that "sang" the national anthem??? She butchered that so badly!!! JUST SING THE DAMN SONG THE WAY IT WAS WRITTEN!!!!!!!! One of my pet peeves!

And how about USC? Nobody in the country could play with that team last night. Wow....and the USC cheerleaders are such hotties in those outfits!

DD<
Still some college all star games to go...I know it isn't like real college ball but Scott M is playing in the East/West Shrine Game on 1/15.

Only 1 month til signing day, 3 months til the spring game. The 2005 season will be here before ya know it! :D

JoJo, she is only 13 years old!

Peeve of mine: When a singer is being introduced in a venue such as the Orange bowl, why do they have to say "Death Row recording artist ..." or what ever label produces that artist records? Think I give a rat's a$$ who the label is?

Not "Fries", its "Dancer". (with apologies to Richard Pryor, of course.)
If her career doesn't fizzle before she's 18, she's the next "sure shot" for Playboy, IMO.
