Sounds like a winner. He's been suspended indefinitely but I suspect he's played his last football game for the university.

These character issues in our major programs are starting to get real old, real fast. I don't blame Kingston but as someone that invests in these programs I'm ticked off.

Stuff happens at every school, I'm just sick of it here.

Rant over.

The Matt Johnson incident not with standing, everything else has involved a female....

Houston arrested for rape, Nick Johnson for punching and choking a woman, and Chris Jans (obviously to a much lesser degree) the butt pat and calling another a name.

To bad too. 99% of BG coaches and athletes are doing the right things, I think that's important to keep in perspective.

Started as true freshman and earned second team All-MAC. Led the MAC in interceptions and set a school record for interceptions by a freshman (5).

All down the toilet. It will interesting to see how the university handles this. Does he get another change at BG?

I caught wind of something bad brewing shortly after the spring game when I was questioning why Nick Johnson wasn't in uniform and anywhere to be seen on the sidelines. I heard a player mentioned he was suspended and later got some info but I wasn't given any details but knew it wasn't good. Now I see this. If this did indeed happen, WTH?! If this is found to be true no way do I see him back. On the football only side of it, this would be a big loss because he has/had star written all over him. To come in and start half the games in a season and be named All-MAC as a true frosh was pretty remarkable. And he is really good, he has the size of a Safety and the cover skills of a Corner. It also deals our CB's a huge blow from a depth standpoint as now Hunter and Stephens must stay healthy. IMO, Johnson was our best CB. I believe he might have led the MAC in int's also. Damn, damn, damn! ](*,)

I woud say it is unlikely - As good as Nick was on the field he was almost as tough off the field. There have been many chances already.

Nice to see The Blade diligently cataloguing these events and trotting them out whenever something else occurs as if they're related. What the heck does Matt Johnson and Ryan Burbrink's prank over lost/stolen money have to do with what Nick Johnson is alleged to have done?

I'm sure they're keeping a similar list of community service activities that the 99% engage in. "This is the 7th time in the past 6 months that a BGSU football player has helped another human being."

Media's gonna media. I'm pissed this is another black eye for the university and another incident involving actions towards a female. Maybe the entire athletic department should be sent to some sort of anti-harassment/anti-domestic violence seminar to drill into their heads that these kinds of things are not good.

Very disappointed that BG has two issues with this within a few weeks. PR nightmare.

From the Blade.

"This is the third on-campus incident involving Johnson and police since Feb. 2. On that date, the 18-year-old was charged with theft after falsifying information to obtain a ‘lock-out’ key, which would allow him access to another student’s room.

That charge was reduced to a misdemeanor of unauthorized use of property. Johnson was given a 30-day suspended sentence and fined $350 on the amended plea.

On March 19, Johnson was charged along with Bria Baker with disorderly conduct-fighting.

On that day, according to police reports, Baker kicked Johnson out of an apartment they were sharing and, eventually, the pair stopped at Lot C on campus, where Baker threw Johnson’s belongings around the lot and scratched his face."

This would mean the football program had, 2 run in's with the cops in December, 1 in February, 1 in March, and 1 in April. Resulting in the now starting QB missing the bowl trip, 1 gone for growing weed, and now 1 gone for assaulting a female. And of course William Houston doing what he did.

Horray for no one getting arrested in January?

So Johnson basically got three chances at trying to right the ship and couldn't do it, that's pretty amazing. Wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer before he gets officially kicked off the team.
