Air Team of The Year - PURDON"T????

Post by Redwingtom »

WTF???

Kyle Orton is 22nd in total passing yards, yet they win the air team of the year? Who did they have them going against? Navy?

What a joke!!!

How about Texas Tech and Sonny Cumbie with 4,742 yards?
What about Hawaii and Timmy Chang with 4,258 yards?
Heck, Omar-4002, Bruce-3,518 and Betts-3,495 were all ahead of this clown.

Not to sound stupid, but what is Air Team of the Year and who bestows this prestigious honor?

I didn't know what it was either, so I looked it up.

Thank you for all of your votes! You, the fans, have spoken, and FedEx would like to congratulate the Purdue Boilermakers on being named the FedEx Express College Football Team of the Year, and the Auburn Tigers on being named the FedEx Ground College Football Team of the Year. We can certainly appreciate the great air and ground games that each team displayed throughout the year, and we are pleased to provide Purdue and Auburn with $25,000 for their general scholarship fund. FedEx. Go Air. Go Ground. Go Football.

That's weak. I know the money goes to the general scholarship fund, rather than to the athletic program, but...

...the rich gets richer. ::puke::

If purdue is the air team of the year this award must have been decided back in early october when purdue was undefeated and orton still looked good.

That air team of the year really put up some huge numbers in the Sun Bowl. Two points at halftime and 280 passing yards. Look out!!!

Agree with the previous statements in that it made very little sense...only PLUS to them IMO, is that their wide receiver led the nation in receptions, setting an NCAA record. Otherwise, it didn't seem to make sense.

I think FedEx put the voting on the internet didn't they. At least I think I heard that last night.

If so, another reason not to let everybody vote.
