Planning on doing the Maryland game instead, and combining it with a long weekend and Washington DC trip. If the game was in Knoxville, we would be there.

Sounds like a plan there FM! We did that with the Military Bowl in 2012 and spent a few days roaming DC. I do wish this game was in Knoxville cuz I want to see Neyland Stadium. OTOH, Nashville is a shorter drive and all interstate. Maryland and Purdue games will be on the BiG Network.
GO FALCONS!!!

Joyce and I are planning on Tenn trip. Doing bus thing from BG, so we'll have to do an overnight hotel in BG.
Thought about driving, but it'll be a long trip that way.

Wanted to make the trip, but with the new Falcon due on the 6th I think I'd be in pretty big trouble if I was in Tennessee that weekend. If the game was at Neyland I'd be pretty upset about missing it.

Will be there with 7 other Falcons.
Bummer it is not in Knoxville, but I suppose Nashville isn't too bad a time.
Anyone know how the tailgate scene is there?

I wanted it to be in Knoxville just because I had never seen a game there but Nashville is a pretty cool city to spend a weekend if you have never been.

A couple of months ago, I noticed that the MAC website's football schedule has us playing Tennessee at Knoxville, TX (yes, TX). I emailed them, and they contacted Kingston and he verified the game will be played in Nashville. To date, MAC's schedule still show the game in Knoxville, TX.
They must be waiting for the webmaster to return from bible school.

I plan to be there with my wife (who is a Tennessee Alumnae), and maybe a few friends. I was able to convince everyone to get seats through BG so I could at least be around a few of my fellow fans, as they'll have plenty of people rooting for their alma mater.
It is a shame that the game won't be in Knoxville, as that is a really cool game day experience (and Neyland Stadium is only 15 minutes away, whereas it'll take about 3 hours to get to Nashville). But I'm still very much looking forward to this game.

Any tips for bars or restaurants in Nashville?
We won't have the gear to tailgate, but would love to meet up with some other BG fans.

You need to focus on Broadway. Lots of good bars there with great music. My personal favorites for food (provided you like good BBQ) would be Jacks or Rippy's.
Rippys is on the corner of Broadway and 4th. Jacks is on Broadway near The Stage.

Jacks has better food, but Rippys has a bar and music (along with garage door openings onto Broadway.

Anyone with info about specific tailgating areas? We should be there no later than noon, kickoff at 4.
