Darrell Hunter injury

Any word or update on Darrell Hunter? Judging from the replay, it looked like he got hit/kicked in the back of the head by Dernard Turner as the two collided on that TD pass Maryland scored on. I'm guessing a concussion or neck injury could be the case. Glad to see him walk off the field on his own. It would be huge to get him back this week.

He walked to the locker room with a wet towel over his head. Seems like a head injury. I sure hope whatever it is, it is not too serious.

Per John Wagner - Hunter is not expected to play.

Dammit. He was banged up the last couple years. Hope Lockdown is back asap. Mack did a great job filling in at MD and now he will get a chance to shine.

Not good news, especially with an explosive team like Memphis. But, hopefully he'll be back for Purdue or more importantly, the MAC schedule.

Hunter is questionable for Saturday but hasn't practiced this week so I wouldn't count on him playing.

The defense graduated 8 starters, lost another 3 during the off-season (Thomas, Johnson and Watson) and lost another 2 (Schwieterman and Hunter) to injury during the season. They are playing fairly well all things considered. Colvin is a beast and Valdez is a tackling machine.

Absolutely. Valdez is quickly becoming the next leader of the D. Learned a lot about leadership from Gabe Martin and DJ Lynch.

Colvin can bull rush with the best of them.

I really hope Darrell Hunter can come back next week vs Buffalo because not only was he out again this week, but Alphonso Mack (Purdue was picking on him yesterday a lot) was also injured and left the game vs Purdue. We are so thin at CB (thanks Nick Johnson) that Ronnie Moore....yes, Ronnie Moore....was playing DB at times vs Purdue yesterday.

I could have swore I saw Moore in there on defense, but then I convinced myself that my eyes were playing tricks on me.

Your eyes weren't playing tricks on you, he was out there on defense at times. If that doesn't tell us where we stand with depth at DB, I don't know what does.

Any word yet on if CB's Hunter and Mack are expected to play at UB? Going against a veteran QB like Licata, I sure hope they can go this week, especially Hunter. We were extremely exposed at Purdue without them and don't think UB didn't notice that on tape this week.

Practice is from 3:30-5:30 today with Babers being available after, I'm sure he'll have an injury update then.
