These non-conference games against the lower teams are so hard to call this early in the season. I'll do my best.

13. MSU over CMU. I like what CMU's new coach is doing a lot, so much better than Enos aka most incompetent coach in the game. But no keeping up with MSU. I have MSU as the #1 team in the country followed by Ole Miss.
12. Notre Dame over UMass. UMass will score some and might make it interesting for a bit but this one's not happening.
11. Ohio State over Western Michigan. OSU is definitely not the best team in the country. I have to think at some point they'll wake up and play up to their potential and it might happen this week.
10. Northwestern over Ball State. Northwestern has looked good so far. Should continue until conference play.
9. Minnesota over Ohio. Minnesota could not score on Kent but they'll have a better effort this week.
8. WKU over MU. Too much firepower.
7. Marshall over Kent State. This one's hard calling. Kent's defense might be for real after learning from a shellacking at Illinois. Kent will make this a low scoring game but I don't think they move the ball enough to win.
6. Army over EMU. Tempting to pick EMU but the defense is young and I expect they'll be unprepared for the option. EMU will win some games this year.
5. Bowling Green over Purdue. Bowling Green gets an early lead and builds upon it with the quick strike offense. The "fire Hazell" chants are heard and "is it basketball season yet?" signs are seen throughout the quarter-filled stadium. I'm a Purdue alum so I can make those jokes.
4. Northern Illinois over Boston College. I'll take the upset here. OSU is definitely not the best team in the country, however NIU took them down to the wire and could have won it. Go Huskies!
3. Buffalo over Nevada. I haven't seen UB play yet so I don't know a ton about them but the results look encouraging. I love their new coach.
2. Arkansas State over UT. I'll take the upset here. Arkansas State is the best team UT has faced this year - Arkansas and Iowa State are pure trainwrecks. I'll take Arkansas State and their offense.
1. Akron over Louisiana-Lafayette. I'll take Akron and their defense. Hard call.
