Tropical storm Joaquin to impact Buffalo/BG
There's a tropical storm off the Atlantic coast which will move northward later this week, forecasts have a 90% chance of rain for the Buffalo area along with 15-25mph winds, gusting to 35. No doubt this will have a major impact upon the football game on Saturday.

Hasn't every game this year been impacted by some form of weather?

It doesn't look like that tropical storm is going to be in New York by game time, but the weather still calls for rain and wind.

Indeed, looks like another system will be impacting the region this week before Joaquin decides to move. Forecast still calling for a chance of rain and breezy conditions.BGSU33 wrote:It doesn't look like that tropical storm is going to be in New York by game time, but the weather still calls for rain and wind.

We need a meteorologist to predict the rain on a scale of 1 to last year's Akron game. This is concerning because rain traditionally hurts passing attacks and we're the #1 passing offense in the FBS.

2006 Miami is still my gold standard for ridiculous rainfall...but you're right, 2014 Akron was pretty bad.
Honestly it's not easy to get good weather at UB in October or November, so my thinking is whatever gets thrown at us Saturday could be much worse.

Forecast has changed to mostly cloudy and windy, ENE at 20-30mph. If that happens, the kicking and passing games will be impacted greatly.

I'm confident we can run the ball on UB. Greene, Coppet, Wilson can churn out the yards. We've been averaging, what, 140 YPG against TN, MD, Memphis and Purdue?

Exactly. Last I checked we still have Travis Greene and Fred Coppet to hand the ball off to. Unless our O-Line is getting owned up front, which would be very surprising given our ability to run the football against P5 opposition, we'll be churning out plenty of yards on the ground. And even if it is windy, I don't buy Matt Johnson suddenly being unable to throw it. Guy's a stud, he'll find a way
