BG's lost 3 of last 4 at home, time to end this funk!

After playing 4 of our first 5 games on the road (way too many of the road to open a season), we finally get to play at home next week and 3 of our next 4 are at The Doyt. But that's also where BG has lost 3 of the last 4 played there. Dating back to last season, BG's lost to WMU, Ball State and Memphis with the only home win during that stretch vs a 1-win Kent State last year. We must end our losing ways at home and get back to our winning ways there. BG's worked its ass off to get each of its first 3 wins as they've all come on the road. It sure would be nice to see us starts protecting our own house again now.

Last season is irrelevant...we played Memphis at home and lost close game to a team that's 5-0. Along with Toledo, that's probably the toughest game we'll have at the Doyt this year.

I agree about last season being last season, but after leaving the Memphis game I was thinking it seemed everything I was leaving the Doyt anymore, it was a long ride home after a loss. Gotta end this trend. Starts with UMass. Go BG!!!

I think the simple explanation here is that Memphis is a really good team. We went toe to toe with them for 4 quarters and they just made 1 or 2 more plays than us and won the game. Yeah it sucks to lose at home but Memphis was likely the best team we'll play all year (they're certainly looking better than Tennessee who lost AGAIN tonight).

I think last year is irrelevant to this discussion but even if it isn't, consider the situation in that Ball State game. BG had already clinched the East title and a bowl. That last game against BSU was almost totally irrelevant in every way other than pride. It's not out of the realm of possibility that our guys were already looking ahead to Detroit and weren't taking the game 100% seriously.

Not disagreeing with these points, but the fact remains for whatever the reasons we still lost 3 of our last 4 home games and that is as poor of a stretch as we've had at home in years. Gotta take care of this. Now.

Barbers talked about our home losses in the presser today and he clearly hasn't just pushed the losses at home last year aside either. Locke mentioned it too, Babers clearly doesn't like to lose at home and said he still is upset about losing at home last season. He's fully aware and bothered by this slump.
