6. Ohio over MU. OU is looking good.
5. Northern Illinois over Ball State. In the same position last year, NIU won out the regular season and the conference title game. Might we see a repeat?
4. Bowling Green over UMass. Our balanced offense does more damage than their passing offense. We win and it is not a shootout this time, and maybe our defense finds some players to assist in the secondary.
3. UT over Kent State. Believe me when I say it is tempting to call the upset here. KSU's defense is pretty good. If only they had a decent offense this would be doable. But with their offense they would need to play a perfect game to have a shot.
2. Akron over Eastern Michigan. EMU impressed last week. It wouldn't shock me if they pull the win. But I'll take Akron's defense.
1. Central Michigan over Western Michigan. If CMU pulls this one off, they are a win over UT from effectively winning the west.

I guess I like to skip some weeks for some reason. Stupid me.
Central Michigan at Western Michigan - Western Michigan - 1
UMass at Bowling Green - Bowling Green - 5
Miami OH at Ohio - Ohio - 6
Kent State at Toledo - Toledo - 4
Akron at Eastern Michigan - Akron - 3
Ball State at Northern Illinois - Northern Illinois - 2
Kind of a dumpy week for the conference really. I know that the MAC is putting bad vs good early on in the schedule in an effort to set up the good vs good matchups for TV in November, but this looks like as noncompetitive a week on paper as I've ever seen. Umass, Miami, Kent, and EMU all look way overmatched today. We'll see if that's how it plays out or if there is a surprise or two in the offing. Central vs Western is definitely the game of the day though. I've never been to WMU but I've heard reports that their fans can get almost as rowdy as CMU's, in which case that's a battle that'll play out in the stands as much as on the field, lol.
