That project has been delayed so it will not be happening on Saturday, so one less traffic concern this weekendFalcon137 wrote:BG athletics posted the following regarding traffic on 75 Saturday. Bridge work at route 6 will cause detours.
Excellent news for those of us coming up from the south.BGFalconfromCincy wrote:That project has been delayed so it will not be happening on Saturday, so one less traffic concern this weekendFalcon137 wrote:BG athletics posted the following regarding traffic on 75 Saturday. That's my old stompin' grounds, and you'll be happy to know if you did have to get off at Cygnet you wouldn't have to actually go into town to get onto 25TG1996 wrote:Excellent news for those of us coming up from the south.BGFalconfromCincy wrote:That project has been delayed so it will not be happening on Saturday, so one less traffic concern this weekendFalcon137 wrote:BG athletics posted the following regarding traffic on 75 Saturday. Though I'm sure Cygnet is beautiful this time of year...
My parents are from down there, I grew up down there. Well, actually about 4 miles from Cygnet in the country, but we had a Cygnet address. It's quite the little town. There used to be a side street that you could drive down that no less than 4 people had party plates. I thought that was impressive and may have qualified the town for an entry in the Guinness Book.TG1996 wrote:But why be so close and pass up the chance?
And I thought I knew that you or one of these yahoos was from there...
Cygnet has an awesome pizza joint. I live in North Baltimore but order from them whenever I want pizza.hammb wrote:My parents are from down there, I grew up down there. You are the second person to tell me that recently. That place has changed owners/names probably a half dozen times since originally opening. I have not had the pizza in its current iteration. In the past it always varied from mediocre to terrible. In the late 90s early 00s the pizza was so so but they had awesome subs that I'd order a lot.footballguy51 wrote:Cygnet has an awesome pizza joint. From the article, Cincy posted. It seems 75 north and south will have 2 continuous lanes open and route 6 will be closed. But, anytime there is that kind of heavy construction, there is sure to be problems.Class of 61 wrote:OK, does anyone know if we'll be able to EXIT onto 6 from I-75 south? This was to be closed last time we heard. Would be a COLOSSAL mess w/ football traffic, especially if they do it on Homecoming weekend.

In fact I have generally been avoiding any of i75 between perrysburg to route 6 and i would recommend that to anybody coming to a game as well. The highway isn't worth it right now. Any small fender bender accident will have you in stopped traffic for an hour or two because there are no shoulders to get around anything anymore.
If I were coming from Cleveland are I would take 475 around and come down 25. If coming from the south I'd get off at cygnet and come up 25.
Seriously the risk on i75 just isn't worth it for me anymore. These routes might cost you 3-5 minutes compared to a perfect flowing highway traffic but if there is an accident they'll save you an hour or two. And I'm not kidding when I say I can see 75 from my house and it probably averages once or twice a week that I'll see completely stopped traffic.
Another alternative if you're coming from Cleveland or anywhere east of BG is to get off the Turnpike at route 53 and take it south to US 6 just north of Fremont and follow US 6 into BG. This route is only a few minutes slower than taking the Turnpike to I-75 south anyways.hammb wrote:The whole are has been a giant mess for months and figures to be for many more months.
