Still a long way to go this season, BUT we may look back and say this loss kept us from a major bowl.

Memphis is still a bad word (damn we let that one get away from us), but hats off to them today, that was a helluva win for them.

I'm assuming you're saying this based on the idea that BG going 12-1 would have us grabbing the G5 spot in the New Year's Six. It certainly would've been possible...the only way that would've been stymied would be if another team from the G5 went unbeaten, with Houston and Temple out of the AAC probably having the best shot at doing that.

I would still think that 11-2 and a MAC title would definitely see us ranked, and depending on how the chips fall, get us somewhere nice for bowl season...but we're still a looooooooooooong way from discussing that.

Memphis is the real deal and Dino wasn't joking when he said they might be the best team in the state of Tennessee. That may be the "best loss" BG has had in quite a long time.

AAC is going to be fun to watch down the stretch. Memphis, Temple, and Houston all ranked and undefeated.

Houston still plays Memphis and Cincy. Memphis still has to play both Houston and Temple. Temple has Memphis left in conference and ND out of conference.

Whoever wins the West would likely get Temple in conference title game.
