That's not out of sync with last week's CBS Rankings, which had BG in 48th nationally. They'll probably be low 40s this week.

Win next three games and beat Toledo and we will be ranked but who cares. I just want to beat the Rockettes, win the East and a MAC Championship

+1, although I love it when BG is ranked. College Football News continues to scratch heads by ranking tsun @#28 and BG next out of MAC teams at #66, one spot behind....wait for it....2-4 MARYLAND. WTF? This is a Top 40 team at the moment....and if the D keep making this kind of progress, we are gonna climb. BiG games for the last 5 weeks and a very exciting MAC race. The West hammered the East yesterday and WMU is a major test on the road as well as tsun. Ball State appears to be packing it in and Ohio? Paper lion, no pun intended.

Ranking us behind Maryland just goes to show how much effort they put into their poll. Joke.

It will be difficult to win out but there is obvious reasons to believe it can be done. I hope for good weather every week. The best defense against BG is bad weather.

I don't think any team in the MAC has a prayer against this team at Ford Field.

CFN is the biggest joke. Sadly it doesn't surprise me they'd put BG behind Maryland. They're P5 homers, plain and simple.

I guess our impressive showing over the weekend didn't impress anyone. We didn't even keep our votes from last week. No longer in the other receiving votes.

I noticed that, too. I guess we should have put up 90 on Kent.

Our lone vote the previous week came from Terry Bowden, so I wouldn't read too much into it. Regardless, I kind of enjoy flying under the radar this season as we head into a showdown with Toledo. That may be the game that gets BG noticed across the country.

Notable MAC teams in this week's CBS rankings:

Toledo - 18
Bowling Green - 38
Northern Illinois - 45
Western Michigan - 59
Ohio - 62
Central Michigan - 75

I think CBS has been pretty much on point with where they've been slotting us all year. FWIW, the other 9 teams ranked 31-40 are Brigham Young, Northwestern, Boise State, Appalachian State, California, Western Kentucky, Navy, Penn State, and Tennessee (yup, that Tennessee). I think there's teams in that group that BG would beat, but surely some others would get the best of us.

The teams from 26-30 are Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Mississippi State, Georgia, and Texas A&M.

This is a fair assessment and it's funny how much BG and Tennessee have gone in opposite directions since the season started. Lots of UT fans were expecting big things this year and they've been all but eliminated from SEC title contention.

BG is a 3-point loss to Memphis away from possibly being ranked which could have set up a ranked vs. ranked game against Toledo. IMO, if BG runs the table to the championship game, they'll be close to the top-25.

Tennessee still hasn't figured out how to win close games. They have the talent of a top ten team but don't know how to win. They could easily be 6-1 with several marquee wins but they find ways to lose.
