Wow...the author of that article actually cited Tom Landry as an example of a coach who plans things out meticulously....Tom Landry..the guy who quit coaching in 1988 and breathing in 2000. A more current guy like Bill Belichick didn't come to mind?
Other than that...nice to see Matt Johnson get some ink...wait..you can't really say ink any more as many newspapers are only digital. Nice to see him get some...pixels?

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Okay...I tried to ignore it, but I can't...sorry, it's the anal accountant in me. Matt, we love him, but he's not the nations #1 ranked QB. He's just leading the statistical categories of passing yards and total offense at this point. And what's with the 24:3 ratio. Shouldn't it be 8:1? And we didn't route Purdue.Flipper wrote:Wow...the author of that article actually cited Tom Landry as an example of a coach who plans things out meticulously....Tom Landry..the guy who quit coaching in 1988 and breathing in 2000. With his intelligence, football-savvy and ability to motivate players a coaching career seems to be in his future at some point...perhaps at his alma mater.

Actually I thought the Tom Landry example was spot on. Maybe because I am old? Plus, yes Belichick always has a well thought out game plan, but has made some modifications over the years, allowing Brady to throw it on every down and playing bend but don't break defense. He's won rings several different ways when he had to adapt to the talent around him.Flipper wrote:Wow...the author of that article actually cited Tom Landry as an example of a coach who plans things out meticulously....Tom Landry..the guy who quit coaching in 1988 and breathing in 2000.
