I watched the Kent State presser earlier in the week and Paul Haynes said he was hoping for rain, sleet or snow for this game because at the time the forecast said 0% as he talked about the weather BG played in the Buffalo game. Well, it looks like he got his wish as the forecast is now calling for 90% afternoon rain. I can't seem to figure out this KSU team. Are they as good as they looked taking Marshall to OT and holding Minnesota to 10 points and UMass to 15 (both road games for KSU), or as bad as the one that played dead in the opener at Illinois or the one Toledo steamrolled? Whether they have the MAC's top D is yet to be seen, but it certainly does look like it's one of the better ones in the MAC. I was a little surprised to see them switching up QB's but both are very capable and as we saw last year, a switch even mid-game can make a big difference (got them right back into the game). KSU is coming off an impressive win (what they did defensively to UMass) and I expect a much stiffer test than what we got from Akron last week.

After seeing Haynes is hoping for bad weather to try and slow down the BG offense...I'll change my prediction. Johnson threw for 300+ and the offense eeked out 500+ yards in Buffalo.
BG - 66
Kent - 13
Light rain and 15 mph winds has next to no effect on an offense, especially when it's 70 degrees. If he could have made BG travel around the country the 2 weeks prior to this game...then he would have been on to something.

I rarely feel this confident going into a game...but this is one.
BG 58, Kent State 16.

I guess I'll play devil's advocate and say the only thing that worries me is the team looking ahead to Ohio on November 4th. Weather isn't looking too bad as the bulk of the rain should arrive after the game is over. That being said...

Going to take more than a good MAC defense to slow this team down. Kent does not have the offense to keep up.

I normally like to be a smartass and post some image representing what we'll do to the opposing team/mascot. But I can't possibly top what Flipper posted so I'll sit this one out!

BG Football is a lot like the stock market right now, up up and away. Lots of chest thumping in this thread. The most painful losses are the ones you don't see coming, and having had my formative years as a BG fan in the Brandon era, I'm always wary. People seem to think Ohio could beat us, that WMU can, that Toledo can, but nobody is saying that about Kent. Their defense is legit, it's going to be rainy today, and it's on the road, (albeit we've played very well away from home this season and Dix isn't exactly an intimidating venue).
We probably win on talent, but I'm sweating bullets on this one...if BG football was a stock I might've sold after last week's win.
