Offense, Matty J
Offense, Matty J
How fun is it to watch this BGSU team?! I can't think of a BG team that was this exciting. As much as I love Matty J and this offense, I don't think he is a heisman candidate this year (although it would be awesome to see him as a finalist). Any other year maybe, but this year there are a lot of people putting up big numbers. Either way I don't think TSUN can stop us and to be honest I don't think anyone on our schedule can stop our offense this year. AY ZIGGY ZOOMBA, go falcons! I will cherish this year for sure.

Totally agree! I haven't had this much fun since the J5, Omar days and this O is even better. Hard to top the talent we had back then but I really believe we have a bit more on this team. Now the D is starting to gel and ST's are improving. LOOK OUT...a locomotive chugging at full speed with no brakes. One game at a time but I'm feeling confident we can run the table. Will be tough with WMU and tsun but it can be done

Assuming BG gets to Detroit, if he averages 419 yards over the next 6 games, he will break the NCAA season single passing record. Incredible.

I had the pleasure of sitting behind the bench at the Kent game on Saturday. With all of the perks of being on college scholarship, the team must not supply razors for the team. We look like a team of lumberjacks out there. Hey, as long as they play their guts out every week... more power to them... AZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Offense, Matty J
Have you looked at the college population or even the under 50 population in general lately?

Well I shaved today...so that's one.
MJ has the heart of a warrior and I love it. But frankly it scares the sh*t out of me the way he stayed in the game after the "leg twist". I'm sure he was pissed and wanted to put another score on them but he was obviously hobbled a bit. Then he texted he was walking slow across campus today. I hope it is nothing but I can't shake the shock from last year.

Kman really should have been in the game when it was 34-0.AZZZZ wrote:Well I shaved today...so that's one.![]()

I agree, but Dino isn't wired that way. He's going to give his first team offense extra reps in blowout games just to work out some possible kinks. I really believe he doesn't care how bad the score gets.Falconfreak90 wrote:Kman really should have been in the game when it was 34-0.AZZZZ wrote:Well I shaved today...so that's one.![]()

Re: Offense, Matty J
I've got no problem keeping the 1s out there in a 34-0 game. It's football. Injuries happen, and those guys (as great as they've looked of late) still have things I'm sure Dino would like to see them work on.
I'd have no problem bringing the backups in either to get them some good work.
Now if it's 50-0? Then I'd really question having the starters out there, but 34-0 isn't insurmountable. Especially in the 3rd quarter.

34-0 is definitely insurmountable against a week offense like Kent State.

The announcers theorized that Matt wants to play in the games as long as possible after missing the entire year in 2014. Makes sense.
With regard to the offense, for all my past reservations it's fun to see it operate the way it is designed to do. So many teams in college football are lost offensively or have a spread system (like Kansas) and can't do anything with it because of a lack of talent. We have a philosophy that is unique and has proven to be overwhelming.
The two keys going forward are (in order): weather conditions and pass protection for Johnson.
