We need to find a rushing defense in the next 6 days. Otherwise its gonna be rough sledding for the next 2 game. I am shocked it was that bad coming off the bye.

You must have missed the first five games of the season. I'm actually impressed with how the defense is playing. Plus only giving up 21 points per game right now that's pretty impressive

Ohio brought a game plan we were not expecting - running the QB. And then when Vick went down they brought out Sprague who we have basically no film on. Defense was caught off guard but they played well and came up with some nice stops.

Still it was a bit painful seeing the tackles late in the game. I hope the defense is ready to play four full quarters, or our depth is ready to contribute in a real way. We'll need it these west games because I doubt the game is put away by the third quarter against WMU, UT, and maybe even Ball State.

The defense put some big hits on their rushing attack. The key is that you cannot completely shut down every team on every drive. They managed the opposing attack by limiting points. Overall a good defensive game. We can't expect shutouts just wins.

The offense we had in 2004 was great....I think this year's version is better. The defense did what they needed to and once they adjusted to what OU was doing after those two long TD drives the Bobcats were done. OU had five possessions from mid 2nd to mid 3rd and they got nothing from them..other than a pick six. If the defense can do that against WMU, UT and BSU...we're going to run the table heading into the MACC

Congrats on the win guys! I know more than a few Memphis fans that catch your games every chance we get. The offense looked good after the 1st quarter. The whole game had a feel that both sets of players already knew the outcome and were just playing out the string.

Likewise! I am following the Tigers all year and hope you run the table!!!

Thanks for stopping back in.

Tell Paxton he'd look reaaaaal good in Brown and Orange next year ;)

I find it hilarious that we have gotten to the point where we feel our offense "struggled" in the 1st half when they had what, 2 punts? LOL They put up 27 points in the 1st half....

I'll even agree we seemed a bit out of sorts early in that game. And OU's ability to control the clock and keep the ball in the 1st half was frustrating, but it was comical just how hard OU would work to get a TD drive and then we'd go ahead and put another 6 up in like 2 minutes...

This offense won't be stopped. It's a thing of beauty and I'm enjoying every second of this season because it is quite likely we never see this sort of production again.

Agreed. Yeah we gave up a lot of yards last night but held OU to 24 pts. Holding any team to 24 and we win every time with our O.

Yep, the D bent but didn't break. Had the big 4th down stop early in the game, had the pick 6 in the 3rd quarter and forced two FGs.

All in all, it was a solid effort. The team did look a little flat to start the game on both sides of the ball which I feel led to the tight score up until right before half, but they got it figured out and had a dominant second half.

BTW, Paul Myerberg was there from USA Today/CBS Sports and believes if BG can beat WMU and Toledo, they'll get ranked.

Tough crowd around here IMO. Did we think we are going shutout everyone now? 38 point win with the backup QB playing for the fourth straight time. What's the problem?

Just my opinion but based on watching this team thus year ; I think WMU and UT...Run around the ends on us and win by 14 points or more... Team still finishes 8-4
