I think we will need to score 70 to beat WMU. They just beat down BSU big time! They have a ton of talent. We will need our best game of the year.

Last 4 games..
62-38
59-10
48-0
62-24
The level of pessimism some still have about this team / defense is astonishing. I'm not saying they will win next week. Western is damn good and it's gonna be tough on the road. But, man. Can they compete? They'll NEED to score 70?
They'll be just fine.

This *Should* be a hell of a game. Both teams can score and rack up yards. I just watched WMU destroy Ball State...not that the Cardinals are that great but still. 54-7...They played MSU tough and osu...just too many stupid mistakes early to stay with the bucks. But they are physical, tough and VERY talented. A win in Kzoo would be a great victory and set us up for the following week. A huge game...can go either way, IMO. BG can beat this team...when we are locked in, nobody in the MAC can stop us. Last night we were a bit rusty and the O still scored 55 pts. BG and WMU are playing the best ball in the MAC and what a game this could be. Here are the scores of their last four games...54-7, 58-28, 49-14 and 35-13. Looks very similar to BG. Maybe not quite as many points but still. Dangerous team...can't wait to see this one.

Agreed 100%. Sometimes I feel I hopped in a time machine and landed in 2006 and we just lost to Temple based on some of the comments around here.

These threads are the standard of self-doubt.
This team can "COMPETE" with anyone in the country. The tough part is winning them all. There may not be any blowouts left on the schedule. I hope everyone on the gameday threads the rest of the way can handle the other teams actually stopping us a couple of times and our defense actually giving up some points. Stick with them and you may see our guys overcome such obstacles for some exciting wins.
Go Falcons.

What's sad is that when fortune's wheel turns downward for the program..as it always does in the MAC, those people will be on here pining for glory days of 2015

I was very impressed with WMU, also! I'll just say I'll take the over at 100!

I swear some of them want the wheels to come off so they can come back and say I told you so.

In 2025, someone will be back reminding you two of why you should have taken Ohio seriously.

Yeah...that's when they'll finally beat the spread against us by losing by 12 instead the 14pt line.

Ball State is slow and horrible. Don't read too much into that. They lost at home to 2-5 Georgia State by 12.

They have playmakers at RB and WR so I expect the D will give up some yards, the key will be limiting big plays and forcing them to do things they're not comfortable with. Corey Davis is a monster and they've got two solid backs that can gain tough yards. I expect the D will rise to the challenge but it's going to be a tough game in their barn.

We might need to score 50 to win. If both of these offenses are hitting on all cylinders, I don't think either defense will be getting many stops. This should be interesting. We have the 2 best teams in the conference and they've both been on an impressive run leading up to this one.
I have to think that the horsies will be up for this one. They are in a 4 way dog fight for the West and know that a loss could cripple their chances of making to the championship. I figure we'll get their very best shot. What I'll be curious to see is if they get our very best shot. We know we have the East sewed up at this point and we also know that we have that unmentionable team to play just 6 days after this one. I don't question our guys' competitiveness and I certainly don't think the players or coaches will be preparing for or playing this game with any other intent than to win it, but I wonder if one team needing this win more than the other will have any influence on things? I hope not. The temptation might be to stick to the basics and not show too much, knowing we might be seeing these guys again on 12/4. We are on a roll right now and I hope we hold nothing back and come at this one full throttle, doing everything we can to keep the momentum going. Roll Along! We can still say that, can't we?

True, on paper we should thrash them. They did lose 24-19 to a ranked Northwestern team showing they can compete.
Still, WMU put up 711 yards of total O and 54 points....impressive against anyone.
Man, I cannot wait to see this game. Like Kdog said, this is what it's all about. We're about to find out who is the best team in the MAC these next few weeks. You only have 12 regular season games so make them count, hold nothing back and go for broke. I want to win EVERY game.
