Not to just pick on you, but we hear this all the time...and it makes no sense here. How many times in college football history have two teams played each other twice in the same season? It's not exactly a huge pool of evidence to draw any conclusions from.
There have been 24 instances of two teams meeting in the conference championship game after meeting during the regular season (see below). Teams that won the regular season game are 15-9 in the rematch. Granted that says we have a 40% chance of winning the next game based on this, but we had a 60% chance of winning last night based on the odds makers!! To quote
