Don't know what all the complaining is about...have had fun in Mobile at two different points in the past.

But if you all think you got problems with this bowl, look at this way. Me, my wife, and now son all went to BG. Our daughter on the other hand went to of all places, and potential bowl matchups....Georgia Southern University!

i know its Christmas time and all that, but how sad is it that you now have to disown a child this time of year. Lainny, we will miss you.

As for the gnashing of teeth over an also ran in the Sun Belt being our opponent....Do NOT take them lightly. You can ignore the last game of the season, they played GA into overtime, have beaten Florida in recent years, blew out Western Mich by a bigger margin than us. Their fan base travels very well from what we saw at their season opener this year at West Virginia, and with this being their first bowl within a short 7 hour drive from Statesboro they'll be there in force I predict. We even got an email about their bus junkets last week!

I think they are a fine team. The problem is there is nothing to be gained from winning and we'll make the conference look bad by losing. There are too many frickin bowls. A good season use to amount to least getting a chance to knock off a team from a power conference. Another bowl game like last year where it is practically a road game. There couldn't have been more than a couple hundred BG fans in Montgomery last year.

Makes me nostalgic for the traditional college football powers our conference used to face in the California Bowl.
