I am disappointed as a fan and as an ALUM with our staff

Post by Mflew »

Justin Martin (True Soph Letterwinner/Walk on from 2003/#2 behind Sanders) has left the team due to staff not awarding him a scolly this year. He had one in the spring and was told that if he worked hard he would be awarded again. Lived in BG on own this summer, attended all meetings as a walk on and did well this fall. BG staff told him we "liked what you are doing but too bad". The kid was good enough to work into the two deep as a true Frosh, play on special teams, travel, and letter but we don't give him his due? Come on Coach B and do the right thing.

Doubt that's a direct quote.

Anyone else know what's going on here?

My first job out of college was as a ticket manager for a minor league hockey team. I increased the season ticket sales from the season before by 1500, uped the group tickets by 1000 per game, and our average attendance was up by 1000 when I was told I lost my job....

Things suck, but somethimes they happen for a reason. . .

I coached Justin thorughout HS and have know him since he was a manager for our Varsity program. He was injured most of his Jr and Sr years in HS. He never was able to demonstrate his ability in Varsity action. He walked on at BG last fall and was named one of the outstanding campers last fall. He also attended BGSU's summer camps since the 7th grade as well.

I am just disappointed that this has happned and I still hold out hope that he can return for the Falcons.

I thought he made a real contribution, and would be missed if finally lost. Let's hope it can get worked out.
