If anyone was at the game/scrimmage today and can share some updates, I'd love to hear them.

First and most of all, miss Matt Johnson and the receiving Corp of last year. Dropped passes, balls knocked out of receivers hands. They just didn't take possession after catch. James and James passing seemed off by throwing balls around the receiver but not too as well. They also had issues running the ball.
With that being said, they were indoors. Not sure how that hindered the throwing as they didn't go long but once. Most passes were about 20 yds or less. They switched QBs every other series so that didn't allow for any rhythm to develop. Plus only ran 35 plays according to post game notes.
If the D plays like they did today for the season, watch out they were on fire. On one play Terrance bush was acrossed the line, legally, before the line moved. They were breaking up passes. Stopping the run, and just plain hitting.
This scrimmage however seemed to benefit the D mostly. The offense really wasn't out to do much stunting nor was the D. My suggestion is watch the coaches interviews post game, I got the feeling it was more for a show for the fans than anything else. But man that defense, hope it continues.
One thing about the offense line, they didn't seem to open holes. Running backs really had no place to run. Seemed odd from last year albeit Travis had his own style of running that helped them.

I came away really impressed with Padron and Eliano in post spring game interviews. I love Eliano's and the whole defense's attitude, and Padron was sharp and quick. While the lack of big game experience is noticeable, I am definitely impressed with the new staff and am looking forward to how they shape the program.

I thought the game started at 11 and got there at 11. I have a feeling it started earlier, but from what I saw j knapke threw the ball better, and with a better sense of where his receivers were, than what J Morgan did.

Anyone have any idea who the leader is for the #1 kicker spot right now?

Also, are WR's Landry or Spencer on campus yet? I don't think I heard about either being at BG yet.

To me, the d looked FAST...especially sideline to sideline. I think we are gonna have a pretty solid D unit that will fly and hit. The tackling seemed pretty good and fundamental. The O has a ways to go but I believe the D and ST are solid. Tim McCauliffe didn't play and neither did Ronnie Moore or Box Coppet. Those 3 are pretty important guys on O. The O will be there with more work cuz we have a wealth of talented athletes. Fields probably has the initial spot for kicker and Joe D will be the holder. Met Coach Eliano afterwards and he is full of passion and excitement. His D, in his words, will be relentless. I love the high flying O and BiG numbers but having a kick ass D is just as great. Met Coach Jinks and he still cannot believe he has this gig and is ready to take the program to the next level. He has a great family as well.
Cool to see former Falcons Gehad Youseff, Jon Mazur, Jude Adjei-Barimah and Gabe Martin there. Also met John Ladd, who played for Coach Whittaker with Fred Durig back in the early to mid 50's.
We have a great chance to defend our title...
