BG in East or West, staying or going?

Post by BGSU33 »

I know we've started discussing this in other posts, but I really wish we had some kind of idea what might be happening with BG, as to whether we stay in the MAC West or move back to the MAC East for next year. Personally, I hope we go back to the East and stay there. I was very disappointed we left the East to go to the West in the first place, but I must say, I've adjusted to it. However, I'd rather go back to the East than stay in the West if given the choice. I just really miss the rivalries with Miami, Ohio U. and Kent State that were broken when we moved. We've always kept the Toledo one going which has been great, and I like the NIU one that is brewing, but I'd trade the NIU one for the Miami, OU and Kent State rivalries in a second.

I'm guessing it's probably not going to be decided until summer and it'll depend on if the MAC remains at the numbers it will be after Marshall and UCF (for football) are out or if we add schools again. I think if a team or teams is added, we'll probably stay in the West. If the MAC doesn't add, we'll probably move back to the East. Either way, I hope we find out ASAP, it's bugging me not knowing.
GO BG!!!

I think the west is starting a reputation for 3 top teams. Bowling Green, Northern Illinois, and Toledo have all fielded decent teams over the past 3 years, and things are looking up. With Marshall leaving and Miami Ohio losing its coach to Indiana, the west should be much stronger than the east.

Not trying to be biased, but I think BG would roll through the east. And I don't know about you guys, but I want a little NIU revenge next season.
Can't wait to make the trip up for a home game very soon.
