No true freshmen or recent transfers in the 2 deep, other than Roop as a long snapper. Coach probably making them earn it in camp.

Looks like we're back to playing the Rover position that was popular under Dave Clawson.

Our new DC comes from a 4-2-5 system. Using some hybrid players makes sense if the plan is to transition to a 4-2-5. I personally was never sold on the 4-2-5 until TCU ran it a few years ago to tremendous success. TCU shut down Wisconsin's dominant rushing attack with a quick defensive line and an attacking 4-2-5 defense.
Don't expect that kind of defense overnight. You need a great defensive line to maximize the 4-2-5.

Little surprised Schwieterman and Ballew are not in the 2-deep. But, since its before the fall practice, it doesn't mean a lot. I think some coaches use this as a motivator for some guys. Its also a bit of disinformation for opponents. I have no idea if that is the case here but I bet this looks a lot different than the first game's true 2-deep.
