I have been told Darrion Landry is not in camp and is not in BG. I was told BG was hopeful he'd be there by this week which obviously didn't happen. I heard he's also been tweeting that his patience is running thin right now and he's close to saying forget it, which I assume means coming to BG at all. I can only guess there must be some academic tape that's holding this up at this point. I was informed he's not even in Ohio but is still back in Texas. To say we need him would be a massive understatement. He was our #1 recruit in this year's class and with Lewis and Dieter leaving, we need Landry badly. I hope he can stay patient and hang in there.

He signed with Toledo in 2015 and never showed up. I think this kid has a problem.

I believe the reason he didn't end up at Toledo last year was because he didn't qualify.

Sounds like an issue with the NCAA clearing house...or maybe our admissuons

I've asked Wags via Twitter if he knows anything. If it's related to clearinghouse though I doubt the university will make it public information.

I'm guessing it's either an NCAA Clearinghouse ruling he/BG is awaiting on or that he needed to finish up something academically at Blinn. Keep us posted if you hear anything back from Wagner.

His name is still listed on the roster so I can only assume he either has reported or will shortly. Guys like Finkler and Sherkel have been removed so it's up to date.

It's because BG is still expecting him to come, but was hoping he would have already here as of a week ago.

I heard Landry is a no go this year. Huge disappointment as BG completely expected him to be here and ready to go this year to try and fill the massive void on the outside with Lewis and Dieter no longer here. Not sure if he's expected to be here in the future or not. But with Landry and Spencer both out of the mix, that means the top two recruits in this year's class are gone. The loss of Landry was especially a blow as most freshmen end up redshirting their first year anyway but he was a rising junior.

Wagner confirmed Landry will not be joining the team. Sounds like the same issues he had in trying to get to Toledo last year.

Jinks said it's still possible he joins the program this year but doesn't play and they'll just redshirt him. It sucks but it's what the NCAA does best.

Thanks for the info. I hope he still comes but at this rate, after him not getting to Toledo last year and now not getting to BG this season, I'm not counting on it happening. But I sure hope it does.

Sorry for the late edit. Meant to say Jinks hoped Landry would still be able to join the program at some time early next year but I wouldn't hold my breath. He's not playing this year for certain.

Yeah...it has to be disappointing to his family that he's had a couple of cracks at landing a D1 scholarship and academics seemed to have tripped him up.
