Anyone watch the Giants-Bills game on Saturday?
First off, the Giants were brutal. But more importantly, Lewis was not good.
He had one target from Manning on sort of a busted play, but he appeared to look back at the ball, but then didn't even make an attempt to catch the pass which looked to just be slightly over his head...it was a weird play.
Then he had one catch, on a penalty which nullified it, but he fumbled the ball out of bounds immediately after the defender contacted him. After that he had another drop on a very catchable ball and then failed to catch another pass that he could have caught...but in fairness, it was a bad pass from the God awful Ryan Nassib.

Two games...six targets....one catch. Unless they're trying to hide him for the practice squad, He needs to run up some numbers in weeks three and four

These 2 weeks will be telling. If he gets a lot of snaps in Week3 that would be encouraging as it's the "dress rehearsal". If his snaps go down drastically I'd say that's a bad sign. Then we get the first wave of cuts. Then, of course, the final preseason game the roster locks will likely not play at all so I'd expect him to have a good chance to go out and make some plays.
All that said, the fact that he was on the field with Manning at all in the 1st two weeks is pretty encouraging. I wouldn't think they'd be wasting those reps on him if they didn't think he's got a legit shot at making the roster, regardless of what his stats show. I mean Eli didn't even play in Wk1 and only had 9 attempts in Wk2. They wouldn't be wasting those limited #1 offense reps on Roger if they didn't think he had a legit shot of being more than even a PS guy, IMO.

Just one thing Brian, Victor Cruz did not play last week. And Lewis was not the starter. Yes he was in like 1 series with Manning, but with those other factors, I would not try to read too much into that.
The Giants just looked so amazingly horrible, I think they put Manning out there one more series just to see if they could do anything right.

Lewis is likely fighting for the WR6 spot on the roster. He's impressed in practices but hasn't done enough in game action to warrant anything more than being a fringe player at this point. As hammb said, these next two weeks are crucial for his future.

According to ESPN he is being beat out for the 6th spot and will likely be on their practice squad.
