FYI - for anyone interested, ESPN Classic is re-airing the 2003 MAC Championship between BG and Miami from 10:00 pm - 12:00. Up until 2013, I probably couldn't stomach watching it over again. But having seen BG claim a pair of MAC titles in 2013 and 2015, I'll at least record it and watch it later again. We had a damn good team that year, one worthy and capable of winning a MAC title almost any other year. Unfortunately, Miami was just a little better than BG was that season.

Yeah, MU was a stud team that year and whooped us twice. We trailed at the half 10-7 in Oxford and 21-17 at the Doyt and they blew both open in the 3rd. Very similar games...

Agreed. That 2003 team was one of my favorite BG teams of all time. That team beat a Big Ten team in the non-conference (#16 Purdue), it beat a Big Ten team in a bowl (Northwestern), it beat undefeated and nationally ranked NIU, it beat Toledo and it nearly beat #5 Ohio State in Columbus. The only missing piece to a near-dream season was losing the MAC Championship. Miami stung us on the road in the regular season, but we got to host them in the MACC, where they unfortunately beat us again.

Game is on now. I forgot Herbstreit, Corso and Tirico were at BG calling this game.

That was my sophomore year, all my friends on the team at that time said that Miami was the by far the best team they played all year and that they were just flat out better than them. That included Ohio State.

I saw that Miami team in person 3 times that season, including Big Ben's last collegiate loss. They were loaded.
