Last year (2015), as a team, BG threw nearly 600 passes (594 to be exact) through 14 games (including the MACC and the bowl) while facing 3 Power Five schools (all away from home) and not a single FCS team, and threw only 8 total interceptions.
This year, after just 3 games vs just 1 Power Five team and including one vs an FCS team, and having played 2 of 3 games at home, BG has already matched last year's interception total of 8 on just 118 attempts.
If that doesn't sum up where we are at the QB position, I don't know what does.
And to think some people were saying we didn't need/want Davis Webb to come to BG because we were loaded at the position. SMH....Also, too bad Clayton Nicholas couldn't have stuck it out another year at BG. He's played well since leaving and I have a hard time believe this "improved" version of Knapke would have beat him out for the #1 spot. At this point, I really so no reason why we don't turn the Memphis game over to Morgan. Yeah he's thrown 2 picks himself, but Knapke has throw 6 himself. To me, Morgan has at least looked more confident and decisive with his throws compared to Knapke, and that's part of the challenge in itself. I'm already chalking the Memphis game up as a loss and am willing to fully accept it if we can get some sort of, well, anything sorted out at QB before MAC play.

Last year I believe we had 13 total turnovers...we have 10 already this year.
I so wanted Kman to succeed but it's clear we need to give Morgan a shot.

Jinks said the plan was for yesterday to be Knapke's day. Does that sound to anybody else like an audition? If I'm reading this right, Knapke yesterday was supposed to prove that he is the guy and I can't possibly see how he did. I think Morgan starts next week.

I thought orangeandbrown made some good points this weekend on his blog. The most important was this:
Dead on. So important, in fact, that I put that in bold.
Also, this:
Personally, I don't think we have much to lose next week, and I'm interested in seeing what Morgan is capable of. But it may be that he just isn't ready. We need to trust Coach Jinks's judgment on this.
Here's the whole post. It's good stuff:

I don't want to rip [James Knapke]. He's one of us and as far as I can see he is a stand-up guy playing his heart out for us.

Also, this:
Difficult to argue with that....on balance, I trust Jinks' judgment on this. If Morgan was a clearly better, he would be in the game...
I think you will see Morgan more and relatively soon. But, if it was as obvious as it seems to us, it would have happened by now.
