BG's non-conference schedules are completed for the next two seasons (2017 & 2018) as EKU was added to the 2018 slate. To say the non-conference schedule for the next two years is loaded would be an understatement as 5 of the 8 games are vs P5 teams (4 on the road) and 5 of the 8 will be road games. Eastern Kentucky is currently an FCS school, but was being looked at hard by the Sun Belt (one of two finalists for the one spot) before the SBC selected Coastal Carolina instead.

EKU and WKU would have been nice additions to the MAC...

I agree, but I'm glad we're at 12 teams now. I hated when the MAC was at 13 and I think 14 is too many. But I'd much rather of had WKU and EKU over the Buffalo, UMass and UCF additions. I was okay with Marshall.

I think Buffalo has been a great addition.
As for the scheduling: This won't be easy. Those are some tough schedules.

Interesting Tweet from athletic department on an announcement today:

October 5, 2019. This would be interesting since that's after conference schedules usually start. That says to me that it's potentially an SEC game. Probably someone's homecoming.

That means only 5 home games in '17 and '19.

I'm not a fan of that at all. That is even less incentive to buy season tickets. And with the type of teams we have scheduled the next several years, we must get things turned around again or we could be massacred on a weekly basis.

That's a good game... Close enough for fans and a bus trip. Well done by whoever makes these agreements.
