Vanel Dossous?

After listening to Jink's presser, he said we have no vertical threat, which has been extremely obvious as teams have been playing us as such. He talked about how we had that last year but that those guys left (Lewis and Dieter). Looking over our WR's, the name Vanel Dossous popped out and I almost forgot about this guy. We heard a lot about him in fall camp but nothing since, and Lord knows it's not like we're loaded at the position where he'd have trouble seeing the field. Does anyone know why this kid isn't getting any PT? Especially considering he's a JUCO as they aren't brought in just to stand on the sidelines. I'm guessing he's gotta be injured. Anyone know what's going on with him?

I watched the highlight on Dossous when I first heard of him. He's a Ronnie Moore type of player. He won't be the vertical threat.
The vertical threat was supposed to be Redding and Phouthavong. Redding came to life some against MTSU but mostly on outs. Phouthavong has not done much yet. He has all the physical attributes you could hope for in a deep threat. I'm holding out hope he will be a major impact on this offense as the season goes and he develops.
We're going to rely on the run game for a while. Which should be fine against most MAC teams.

I wasn't implying Dossous was going to be a vertical-threat option for us, my question about him was does anyone know what's going on with him? After I listened to Jink's presser, I scanned over our WR's and came across his name (almost forgot about him) and wondered what his status was, primarily because he was a JUCO who was added late and was getting a lot of mention in camp. And along those same lines, what about Tim Tupa (Navy transfer) for that matter? Tupa had a really nice spring game last year but I haven't heard anything about him either. Again, not as a vertical threat, simply his status.
As for relying on the run in MAC play, I agree, it looks like we're likely going to have to lean on it much, much more this year. But North Dakota mapped out a foolproof blueprint that showed it can easily be bogged down (held BG to 88 yards on 34 carries). The bottom line is we're still going to have to be able to throw the ball some to win, even in the MAC. We'll likely be running more this year than we've been accustomed to doing in the last few seasons, but make no mistake, teams can know we can't go downfield and they're going to game plan us because of it.

I just read something on twitter that made it sound like Dossous is transferring??? If so that is very odd, to have a Juco come in for one year and then bolt. It would also be yet another blow to the WR unit which was wrecked by player departures last year and is still in great need of help. I actually expected Dossous to have a much bigger role next year at BG.

A tweet posted over on FalconBlog (he has them running on the left-hand side of the page). One in particular seemed to elude to it happening.

Think the Aussies almost became a pipe dream. Did either actually enroll EVER?
