Do any of you remember the BG student who sat in all 30,599 seats (at the time) at Doyt L. Perry Stadium after he lost a bet, on the NCAA Basketball Tournament if I remember correctly? This happened when I was a student between 1993-97. If I remember correctly, he worked for the BG News or something and made a bet with a student co-workers and lost. His punishment was he had to sit in every seat at the stadium. It ended up making the news on one of the Toledo stations, they sent a camera crew down and filmed him sitting and standing and moving to the next seat. It even got a write-up in the USA Today. I think it ended up taking the guy like three days in what he thought would take just a few hours. I remember him making the comment about something being sore and something along the lines of thank God the stadium wasn't 100,000 seats! I don't know what made me think of this, but it sure was funny.

Yeah, I remember him. He was my roommate at the time. I went out one of the nights to drink wi... errr... see him... as he worked his way through the SE corner. Something tells me he ended up skipping one or both of the endzone bleacher sections, once he realized that it took a really long time to get through even the east and west stands, but he might have done them all. (That was a long time ago! *laugh*)

I forget the exact bet, but I think if he won, he was just getting a dinner or something. Someone was winning that one either way.

It's a small world, that's funny that was your roommate. I don't know what in the world made me think of that, but I remember it happening something along those lines.

That would be BG 24 News, to be exact. I'll have to check the old articles, but I think he made the bet with Andrea Pacione, now better known as Andrea Pacione Thome.

I actually think it was the girl after Andrea that he made the bet with. Not totally sure, but about 95%.

James Ryan

He lost the bet with Andrea. My roomate went to school with James and worked on the news with him and Todd Meany and Andrea in 1993-4.

Yeah, that's the guy... but it seems like the bet was the next year. In fact, I'd almost bet on it. that would have been his sophomore year, and I don't think he was on-air until his junior year. I think the bet was with Shannon McMahon.

Just out of curiosity, who was your roommate?

It had to be 1993-4 because I lived in Prout and Rollerbladed out to watch him like 5 times.... I will ask my ex roomate.

My Roomate was R. Scott Parker, the pride of Perrysburg, now working in LA for New Line Cinema, I believe.

Wow. Small world. I worked with Scott in high school for a couple of years!

And I just made a call to the inimitable James Ryan, and I've been spreading lies. It *was* a bet with Andrea Pacione, in April of '94.

The years (and beers) have been unkind to my memory, I guess.

It's Ok TG. I am just glad my memory is working. I still have the USA today of James' exploits cut out somewhere...

Did you work with scott in the Kroger? He worked there for like 600 years.

Little known scott parker fact - he was the body model for the submarine in Austin Powers 3 (Goldmember)!!! (He is the account clerk for the movie, look for him in the credits of that film classic.)
