This Tuesday we get to see a rematch of the mac championship in BG's first nationally televised game this year. I know we've had a bit of a rocky start but NIU isn't looking so hot either. Could being in the national spotlight be the spark we need to get this season going?

I'm hoping the long week helps. The team is a bit banged up. Perhaps a change of pace could give these guys a physical, mental, and emotional break.

MACtion sucks. I hate MACtion. I feel like a whore when I watch it. I feel dirty when I type the word MACtion. F**k you ESPN.

Anthony Weiner feels dirty when he watches MACtion.
Of course he's doing that while he's jerking off to pictures of little girls...but still...

I like #MACtion. Even first-place-to-worst-place #MACtion.
I'll be there.

I'll be flipping back and forth between that and the Indians game.

I am divided on my view of MACtion. I would much rather go to a game on a cold, fall afternoon and it makes traveling to a game almost impossible. I know the crowds are rather paltry too. However, it does give our conference national exposure for a month and allows the teams that would never get on national television the ability to do so. I went to BG back in the 90s and I only got a chance to see them on TV when they would play in a bowl game - it's nice to see them every week now from Akron. Perhaps they could strike a balance and cut it down to two a year...

MACtion blows...I might occasionally flip over to watch a bit of the game, but with the world series on I wouldn't expect any real "national exposure" from this game. Hell a GREAT NFL game got destroyed by the WS on Sunday night. Bowling Green playing against....hell I'm not even sure who we play?
Meanwhile Saturday would have been such an awful day to watch college football...

ESPNU is where college football games go to die. The only audience it'll get tonight are those who have money on it.

Pretty much. And if you're betting on a Tuesday night BGSU football game you either A) are a professional gambler who plays the smart plays and doesn't even necessarily watch, or B) have a serious issue!
MACtion is a joke. Selling our souls to ESPN so that we can get 15 people in a bar in Vegas watching our games instead of actual fans being able to attend the games and build an attachment to the program.
Although in reality I should just stop...been saying the same for the past 10 years and it makes no difference. They've made their bed, now we all get to lay in it.

Only the MAC Commish, the presidents and ADs know if the money lost in attendance is made up in ESPN revenue....I personally don't think it comes close. Like HammB said in another post, a lot of expenses that the schools are on the hook for go into streaming all these different events. Exposure is nice and all, but general students aren't coming to MAC schools because they are on ESPNU on Tuesday night. On top of that we are slowly killing our fan base by scheduling midweek games and letting ESPN determine game times on Saturdays.
Personally, I think the MAC would be better off with a FS1 deal or CBS College Sports package. Stream all the other games on the MAC website....couldn't be much worse than what this American Network does anyway. The MAC should focus their attention back to campus and local fan bases. Ultimately that is what needs to improve.
