Does anyone know the last time we won at NIU? I think it would be pre Urban Meyer days. We don't play often and that is a hard place to win.

They said in the intro on ESPNU that BG's last W at NIU was 1998. Winning record overall vs NIU and in MAC Champ vs NIU.

Stadium is pretty empty. This is not a future member of the Big 12, that's pretty certain.

I'm an NIU fan when they play anyone else. Seeing Drew Hare injured on the sideline hurts. That guy is so good.

Defense is terrible.

I hope recruiting is focused on the defensive front seven. Those guys are getting physically dominated right now. Lots of time in the weight room this off-season.

Agreed. NIU offense seems to be working with ease. Gotta be tougher on D, esp in the Red Zone.

Why pass so much? We do not have the consistency at WR to be passing on all three downs. A strong run balance would help the passing game so much.

Come to BG. Play for a program which can make any team look good.

Yeah, they own our defense. And, my goodness, that was a terrible penalty interfering with the NIU punt returner.

I would call that penalty and effort penalty. Guy was trying to make a play and made it too soon. It bothers me way less than our defensive play so far.

Our defense needs to quit playing like they're afraid of catching a communicable disease
