Can't believe Gehrig Dieter didn't play his final year of eligibility at Bowling Green...

Yeah, what was Dieter thinking. He could have caught 150 passes and broke Barnes record and been a lock for first 3 round draft pick. What was thinking. He should have stayed.

Can't tell if sarcastic or not ...

Getting LOTS of playing time and plenty of love from announcers. Of course Blackledge's dad graduated from BG ( with me). So that may have helped. Still, he's looked pretty good with another solid catch on sideline and some good blocks to help spring RB's

I say this admittedly without a good beat on the upcoming draft class or team needs. As long as Dieter has a good combine, he has first round potential. Size, speed, hands, awareness, blocking, and proven success in two very different offensive systems. I'm thinking he's 3rd to 4th round but you never know. Sky's the limit for him.

I'd wager he won't be drafted at all just based on current stats. Few non-super burners make NFL WR rosters.

He's a starter on a team that has won 25 in a row and will likely win a national championship. He could've stayed here and possibly been first team all MAC on a 4-8 squad. I'd say he made the right decision. I've said it before and I'll say it again catching 100 passes at BG does nothing for your draft prospects.

There is basically 0 chance he gets drafted at all. He will be in a camp somewhere and might make it as a 5th or 6th WR and practice squader. There are 250 Gherig Dieters in the NCAA right now.Ronnie Moore has a much better chance to make it in the NFL.

He'll be a UDFA and get a shot at making a team out of camp.

Were you drinking when you wrote this? He won't be drafted. Alabama is so painful to watch on offense. Jalen Hurts can't throw the ball into the Gulf of Mexico but they do just enough to get the W.

There is a good story in the Toledo Blade today. Gehrig said he wanted to transfer to Syracuse but BG would not allow that. I thought once a player achieved his degree and graduated and still had a year of eligibility remaining he could transfer to any school. If BG prevented him from transferring to Syracuse then that pisses me off. BG has ZERO, ZILCH, NO right to block a transfer of a GRADUATE student. I can see if a player was a sophomore or junior but Dieter already received his degree. I'm sure Gehrig is glad the decision he made to go to Alabama but if BG prevented him from following Bakers to Syracuse, SHAME ON YOU BG!!!

That was a good article. Answered a lot of things we were left just to speculate on for the last year.

My guess is Strack was given information about Dieter looking to follow Babers, by Kingston. Strack began tweeting all kinds of stuff regarding tampering with him, and other nonsense. Clearly, Kingston did not want him to leave. Cooler heads obviously prevailed as even the block to Syracuse is beyond ridiculous. Kingston had these young local media guys wrapped around his finger. See the Jans situation. How not one local media member dug into that story any further between the Reverand's worker being with the Tillers, and the Tillers history with BG, is still beyond me?

I could see blocking an xfer to the Cuse...it's a pretty standard practice to block in conference and schools that poach your coach.

I don't see him getting drafted...I think he wouldn't have been drafted had he stayed. I like his chances in the NFL better than Moore's. Deiter had shown good hands, the ability to block and get open down field. Ronnie has a little speed, but he's kinda slightly built, has had some Injury issues and he has issues with drops.
